Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

Loki had said he was going to show up, and even if he was the god of lies, sometimes when he said something, he meant it. Mostly. Well, in this case definitely. Not like there was much else to do in this place beyond waiting and watching. Which was fun, sure, but so far had been the equivalent to watching paint dry. Eventually, he was going to get bored enough to start poking things with sticks and sharp words, but he wasn’t there quite yet.

Then again, maybe he wouldn’t have to be, if alcohol was being thrown into the mix.

Even if a few drinks wouldn’t do much of anything for Loki (Midgardian liquor couldn’t possibly hit the spot the way Asgardian kinds would, unfortunately), the act of drinking was pleasant enough.

Karaoke wasn’t quite happening yet, but things were somehow getting louder even though the bar didn’t have all that many patrons. That only meant good things, he figured.

He glanced down into his mug to check the status of his own drink and then cast another curious glance around — certainly, there was someone nearby to chat up. Might as well make it a night to meet new people.

Someone said party and well Klaus was there, it wasn't like there was anything better to do - and he'd already spent enough time drinking alone at his house, he might as well try it in public for a change. It wasn't like he couldn't walk the five feet from the bar back to his house of it turned out that these people in mass were more than he wanted to deal with.

He grabbed a couple of bags of chips, because say what you will about him, Klaus knew that all parties were made better with the addition of snacks. And that was one thing Klaus had plenty of. He'd shoved them at a guy who looked like he was probably helping out with the actual running of things and then went and got himself a drink.

And then drink in hand, Klaus wound his way through the room, moving with the music until he'd sidled up to a good looking young man that he hadn't had the pleasure of talking to just yet.

"You look like a man in need of some company," He said by way of introduction. "And I just so happen to be a man who makes for very good company."

Well, this was a new person, so that was exactly what Loki had been looking for. Delivered straight to where he'd been sitting, without any effort on his own part, no less. That was always nice, wasn't it?

Loki considered the man for a moment, giving him a once over that was just long enough to get in the details and just short enough it wouldn't be considered lingering. He was attractive. Definitely an adult, and looked a bit like he had enough life experience to have something interesting to say. The lack of shyness or modesty didn't hurt, either. "I was in need of some company," he admitted with a smile, slightly crooked. "Do you do party tricks, or just tell good stories?" Loki gestured to the seat across from his own in invitation.

"I thought so," He agreed, cocking a hip and leaning up beside the other man where he sat and then considered when he was asked about party tricks. "Well my best trick needs a less than beautiful assistant so this probably isn't the place for it." He said thinking of Ben and what they had been able to pull off together - it would be a pretty killer part trick, if he could get Ben to play along.

"But I can do this," He said setting his mug down and then twisting his own arm up just enough so that he could lick his own elbow and then holding his hands out wide to stand there proud and pleased of himself and his trick.

"What do you think?"

Briefly, Loki wondered about what that very best trick might have been and who the assistant was that he might have needed in order to do it properly. Now didn't seem like the time to ask though, not really. That sort of thing was for later, if Loki was still interested in knowing.

He rose his eyebrows when Klaus licked at his own elbow and decided that he instantly liked this man. There was something shameless and careless about him, like he didn't have any fucks to give about how stupid he might come across as, and was only there for a good time.

Maybe he really did make for great company.

"Well," he said after a beat. "I'm very impressed."

Klaus bowed just a little after his trick and grinned picking up his glass when he had earned the impressed reaction he'd been going for. He wasn't worried about what people thought of him, he'd have retired from the world a long time ago if that was the case.

"I thought you would be," shrugged like it was no big deal and a very big deal all at the same time. Where his company hadn't exactly looked him over when he'd made his way toward him, Klaus had no compunctions about doing it himself.

"I'm Klaus," He introduce himself now that he'd shown off a little bit of his talents he thought names probably came next.

Loki liked that shrug and knew it took a special sort of person to be able to pull off a look that was fully caring and nonchalant all at the same time. Klaus looked a little bit like he had secrets and that he'd lie about them terribly.

"Who wouldn't? That's not meant to be easily possible for Midgardians." It wasn't impossible, but it did show a certain amount of flexibility that most of them didn't have. "A pleasure, Klaus." Or, it probably was, because the guy wasn't being subtle at all about the way he was looking at Loki like he'd be a delicious sort of snack. "I'm Loki. Fancy a drink?" Sure he already had one, but a little indulgence never hurt anyone.

"Only the most flexible of us can," Klaus agreed, though he wasn't entirely sure what a Midgardian was, he felt pretty certain that it wasn't an insult as much as a descriptor so he didn't let it worry him. After all he was still just getting to know Loki and it was a bit early for the insults.

"Yes it is," He agreed, it wasn't always that he got someone so agreeable but Loki certainly seemed to agree with him and after he'd let his eyes roam over him Klaus was certain the pleasure was his as well.

He needed to get out a little more, or keep more regular hours if this was who he'd been missing in his late night roaming and trips through the doors. "Oh yes, I always do." It didn't matter that there were already drinks, what mattered was that he wanted one with Loki, and then maybe he'd convince Loki that he tasted much better for it.

It was never too early for insults, but Loki tended to only dole them out to those who deserved them in the first place. And it'd been a long while now since he'd been easy to anger and annoy. Some other Loki completely, practically. Not to say he was always agreeable because that would have been a lie, but he saved being contrary for the sake of it for people who deserved some hardships.

Currently Klaus, with all of his good company, didn't deserve anything bad at all.

"Let me work on that, then," he said with a little wink before standing and wandering over to the bar to grab something new. Klaus didn't seem like a mixed cocktail type, so he went for something straight with a little ice.

"Aren't you the man with the snacks?" Loki asked when he returned, handing a drink over and lifting his own so they might clink glasses even if he didn't offer a verbal cheers.

"I'll be right here." Klaus watched Loki move back to the bar for another round of drinks, tipping back what he had left in his mug after he'd spent a little bit of time admiring Loki's backside, entirely shameless in the way he looked and held himself. Drinking alone in his house was fine, wandering the town while drinking was also fine - but finding himself in a place with others doing the same thing - well that was something he much preferred.

And unlike the kind of maddening thumping of club music there was enough melody here not to trigger that small part of his brain that liked to curl up around itself at the mere hint of gunfire.

New drink in hand Klaus raised his own to meet Loki's in an easy cheers and nodded, "That is me, snacks and just about anything else I can get my hands on." He agreed, snacks were easy of course because you could just wrap your hands around a display and make off with bags and bags as you ran for the door.

"And do you do anything here for our burgeoning community? Not that this," he said waving with a free hand to indicate all of Loki, "isn't enough." He was just curious.

Loki considered Klaus, watching his hands carefully and wondered if the man was quick with them or just ballsy enough to take what it was he wanted and run. Maybe a little of both, depending what it was he was looking for. Loki himself was more of the former, adding in a bit of smooth talking to get whatever else it was he wanted without much effort at all. So long as what he wanted was attainable, anyway. "Good to know," he said, amused. "You'll be the first person I call if I need a helpful pair of hands."

He sipped his drink -- no chugging for long swallows for Loki who was the image of prim and elegant. Loki liked the compliments, of course, and didn't see any reason to be demure about them. He was good looking, after all, even if it was in a way that was prettier than handsome, like a direct opposite of his brother. "I help if anyone bothers to ask," he said after a beat. Loki was, in general, fairly lazy without prompting. At least when it came to things like community services. "I got the water going."

Klaus could be careful, on occasion, but honestly he'd always been much more of a do it and run kind of guy in all things in his life, it was the only way you could do certain things with Reginald Hargreeves standing over you at all times. So you know, thanks dad for the life skills, they were coming in real handy these days. "We can all use a helpful pair of hands from time to time," Klaus said reasonably, "In fact I think I can say with some certainty that the whole of me can be very helpful under the right circumstances."

Raising an eyebrow when Loki claimed to be helpful when asked, though it sounded like he wasn't being asked to be very helpful as of late, which honestly was a shame. Klaus could think of any number of ways that Loki could help him right here in the middle of this bar, and quite a few more if they ended up back at his place. "Oh you did?" He asked, "Well that is something I am incredibly grateful for. Anyone thank you for that yet, because I can up the amount of thanks I give accordingly if not."

"I'm inclined to believe you," Loki said, seeing no real reason to play coy in a situation like this. Klaus could be fun, and there was no reason at all to not have fun even whilst trapped in a town with the Avengers. "But I think I might need a demonstration, just in case."

He wasn't overly helpful by default, but Loki was occasionally decent enough to be it anyway for the sake of cohesion. Or in order to make a friend. For as much as Loki protested the need, he did want some friends. There was no point in being lonely and bitter. That wasn't him. Not anymore. Still, sometimes it was something of a chore, battling against his past nature.

"I did," he agreed, not bothering to be demure about it. "And no, I don't think anyone has. It's a shame, really. My ego is hurting."

"Well you just let me know when you need a demonstration," Klaus grinned because well he could, and because he had a feeling this was going exactly the direction he wanted it to and that was a far better end to his night than he'd been entirely certain he'd get when he'd walked into this bar in the first place. "I'll be more than happy to oblige."

And poor Loki indeed, doing something for the good of the town like that and not getting the kind of thanks that he deserved for it. Klaus tutted shaking his head at the pure tragedy of it all. "That really is a shame," He sighed, "We're going to have to do something about that, because I for one, am extremely grateful for the addition of working plumbing to our lives."

He paused for a moment considering Loki, and their surroundings, or whether or not he should just suggest they leave already - nevermind that he hadn't been here long before he asked, "Do you dance?"

There was no need to ask Loki to ditch out immediately -- because this was the very first night this bar was opened and Loki very much intended to see it through to close, if only so that he could see if any kind of drama ended up rearing its head. There was no way it couldn't, he was sure, not with a room full of pent up super heroes drinking like it was their new and only hobby.

But he was absolutely going to take Klaus up on his blatant offer, as well.

"I absolutely dance," Loki said with a smile, and it was practically an honest thing, all charmed over the question like he hadn't been expecting it. "Do you want to? Or would you prefer a private show later tonight, once the bar closes? To go with your demonstration."

Yeah this was going to go well, Klaus was sure of that, and there was no need to rush through it. He did love an excuse not to rush himself, to really sit in something and truly enjoy it - after all that was the point wasn't it? A good time? And Loki had good time written all over him.

Klaus had a feeling neither one of them were quite finished with their night out either.

Now it was a question of whether they were going to start now or maybe let it linger. "I have a feeling you have the kind of dance moves that are best viewed in private." Klaus decided, and well that was definitely something he wanted to see for himself, once they left the noise of the bar. "We'll both have a much better time after the bar shuts down for the night."

"I think you're right," Loki agreed, although he had no real problem showing off in public either (what man who wore a crown daily would?). Still, the promise of something fun at the end of the night was a good one. Klaus was pretty and he was interesting and Loki would rather learn him than do something quick and dirty outside or in a bathroom. Anyway, he was usually classier than all that. Sometimes.

"Tell you what," Loki said, sipping from his tea mug for dramatic pause. Loki loved some dramatics. "When you get bored or when the bar closes, you come find me. Whichever comes first. I think we both have a little mingling to do."
