Summary: When Sirius returns from beyond the Veil with knowledge of Voldemort's Horcruxes, he takes on the task of finding and destroying them. Somewhere along the way he finds an unexpected ally and perhaps something more. (AU from the end of OotP, takes place during HBP period)

Add to this that the Hat had been yelling at everyone to 'unite in the face of adversity' for at least the past two books, and what is that, if not a hint.... Only to in the end go, 'The Hat doesn't know what it's talking about. Let us ~~run amuck!~~ do a nuck!' I have to admit, seeing Snape's profile etched in a Hogwarts wall is kinda funny (him 'leaving a mark' upon Hogwarts, LOL, a greasy, hook-nosed mark^^), but it was more funny than useful to the story. Plus, I kinda expected McGonagall to figure and help Snape out by the end. She *did* see more of Snape - staff meetings, Order meetings... And in the end, everyone was alone and isolated, Voldemort got everything, and somehow victory still happened even though the left hand did not know what the right one was doing.

Whew. Glad that Voldemort was defeated, but... a bit of unity would not have gone amiss. C:
