Lots and lots of snupin recs and a couple of recs for snarry stories:
SNUPIN:
>> Train Station by
tgp.
Rating: G. Pairing: Vague SS/RL, one sided SS/LP. Content: the Afterlife, vaguely religious themes, angst.
This is by a writer who is fairly new (to me), and a lovely story it is. Being in love with sex, it's not that often that I'll rec gen fic, however this one is worth making an exception for - a very thoughtful and satisfying fic that provides a resolution of sorts for Severus (and Remus) after death. Do go and read.
>> From BLU (Bigger, Longer, Uncut), the new snupin Big Bang archive, comes Sight Unseen by McKay. Rating: NC-17. Warning/s: DH spoilers; disability. Summary: After losing his sight during the Battle of Hogwarts, Remus struggles to adjust to his new circumstances; when depression threatens to overwhelm him, he receives unexpected assistance from an unknown source.
I'm sure that most people have, at some point in their lives, wished they were dead. That doesn't mean they have actively sought death out; but surely that longing to simply dissolve, or evaporate into non-existence, is familiar. And that's the feeling that pervades much of this story. It didn't evoke sobs or howls, rather those slow, heavy tears that steadily slide down over your cheekbones. And Remus's plight *is* heart-rendingly sad - and the reader feels his depair, his emptiness and his longing for an end, with every sentence written. But without giving too much away about the way that satisfaction and joy enters Remus's life again, I hasten to assure you that there is a happy ending. A wonderful and satisfying happy ending!
Do read this one - very much worth reading, and as with all McKay's work, a snupin story that seems destined to shape and form some perspective of the snupin ship.
>> Also from the new BLU archive, The Awakening: Blood Rites by
arionrhod and McKay.
Content: supernatural but non-HP-magical AU, violence, vampirism with the associated blood-drinking and biting that comes with it. Rating: R. Warning/s: Graphic Violence. Summary:For centuries, the vampires and werewolves have been at war, each struggling for supremacy while avoiding the attention of humans. As a Death Eater, Severus lives to hunt and kill werewolves, but when he meets Remus Lupin, everything he believes in is challenged - and changed.
I've just started reading this one, only a few chapters in, and I'm already in that breathless page-turning (screen-scrolling?) frenzy where I just cannot inhale the story fast enough. An amazing snupin adventure, loosely based on the film Underworld, although the authors give assurance that you need not have seen the film to follow the story. THIS ONE IS NOT TO BE MISSED. Oh, it's so much fun, it's so perfect, with Severus (naturally) making the best vampire imaginable. And Lupin, well, if you've seen the movie, I'm sure you can guess his role, and if you haven't, let me just say he's crucial to the story, and cast in the *perfect* role fo him. *elation* *joy* I love it already, and I'm off to read some more. Now.
>> You know how some stories are comfort-stories, in the way that hot cocoa and toasted-cheese sandwiches are comfort food? Well, my ultimate comfort series is
geri_chan's AU snupin series, begining with "Always" and ending with "Scars" (well, hopefully not 'ending', it would be wonderful if there were more to come.) I've listed the entire arc of stories below: most of the fics are pure snupin, some of the last few are set in the same universe, but feature Severus and Remus as cameos, rather than central characters.
I've read these stories so often, and hidden in them so much, I'm not even sure if I can give a coherent review. They're sweet, without ever being cloying, and somehow always warm and cheer me after reading. Grr, I know I'm not doing this series justice, suffice to say this is utterly wonderful reading, and I heartily recommend this series to snupin-readers - there's so much to enjoy.

In some cases, I've linked you only to Part 1 of a story, so I'll also direct you to Geri's Snape/Lupin index so that you can negotiate your way through the stories themselves.
I urge you to start with the first story, "Always", set during PoA, so that the other stories will be easier to follow. Besides, "Always" is marvelous, and not to be missed.
EDIT: Please note - Geri informs me that the yahoo!page where she has archived her snupin will soon not be available - I've provided an alternate link to the lupin_snape Moonshadow archive. In the archive you can search for
geri_chan as "Geri" and find her stories that way. (Moonshadow policy means that I can only link to the warning page, not the works within the archive.)
SNARRY:
Crossed Wires by
torino10154.
Rating: R. Warning/s: bottomsnape; drunkenness; silliness. Summary: Snape wants Harry to seduce him. Harry is being very slow on the uptake.
Hilarious story of Severus trying to hint in increasingly less subtle ways exactly what he wants from Harry. The first hint is a magazine left open in Severus' bathroom, but [Harry] didn't think of himself as a "natural bottom hiding in the guise of a powerful wizard, just waiting for the right man to come along and release his natural submissive side", as the story seemed to suggest. Then Severus invited him into his Potions lab as he preparing lube. And the third is so obvious... but Harry still somehow misinterprets.
Very cute and funny short story featuring an increasingly frustrated Severus, and a somewhat oblivious Harry. And that last line is so hot...
Escaping the Paradox by
meri. Rating: X. Summary: After Harry is thrown back in time to 1971, he has several choices to make.
Like "The Living Years" (recc'ed last week), this story reverses the usual age difference between Harry and Severus. Young Auror, Harry Potter, is sent back in time to Severus' first year at Hogwarts. Discovered By Dumbledore, he becomes a teacher at Hogwarts - and a friend and mentor to Severus, helping him, and determined that he not become the embittered and unhapppy Snape that Harry previously knew. Over the years, he joins the Order of the Phoenix and the fight against Voldemort, and eventually comes to terms with being stuck in this time. And although the romance between Harry and Severus only unfolds at the very end, I have to agree with them that it's well worth the wait. Read and enjoy!
Do leave a comment for the writers to let them know what you thought of their stories. I figure comments = thanks.
As always, some (but not all - there's always fresh material in every post) of this post will be duplicated at my latest recs entry at
bottomsnape.

Yeah, most likely I am. *hugs*
I actually do have a few future story arcs planned for the series, but haven't had time to write them. I promise I will get around to it eventually! ^_^
And I definitely want to second the rec for "Sight Unseen"! I'm right in the middle of it now, and it's a really wonderful and moving story.
Google provide a free web-site service - "google pages" (I think). It's incredibly easy to set up - no speciialized knowledge required.
I will replace the links here with the Moonshadow links some time soon.
You're welcome for the rec. Consider it a tiny bit of gratitude for the hours I've spent in your stories.
"Sight Unseen" - Meep! Whimper! It is good, isn't it?
Tell me you cried - don't want to be the only teary-eyed dork.
I'll admit to tearing up a bit. ^_^ It helped that I knew ahead of time that it had a happy ending. If it had ended badly, I'm sure I would have been bawling like a baby!
Now I don't feel quite so foolish about the permanent waterfall for the latter half of the story. Until the end - when I was smiling ear to ear.
