We don't know anything about Snape's wand. What sort of wood? The core and length? For info on known wands for comparison, here is a link to the Lexicon wand page.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be obscure! I meant that the Beedle the Bard commentary would account for the Elder Wand, because it would keep accumulating power from each of its owners. If Dumbledore's commentary is correct, any wand kept in continuous use for 1000 years would become a Wand of Destiny (particularly if it's preferentially sought by the most powerful and power-hungry).

Just imagine other potential 'career wands': The wand of wandmakers, passed down through a line of members of the Ollivander family since antiquity. That should give extra edge to a famiy-based wandmaking business (or any other family business where a wand was passed down in that manner). I wonder if it would be possible to make a wand for, say, fairness, by having a wand passed down through heads of Hufflepuff House or former Hufflepuff prefects?

        Oh, yes!

In fact, shouldn't there be House Wands too? And can't you see an old Crafting family disinheriting their child if the Family Wand refused to choose him/her?
