Hello! *shy wave*

Username(s) (LJ, IJ, DW): red_day_dawning at all three journals.

General Location: Melbourne, Australia

Age Range: squirms! Over 21. Way, way over 21.

How long in Snape/Harry Fandom: I've been reading snarry for a while - around two years, perhaps. My OTP is snupin *ducks* and I've only recently started "thinking in snarry". I've written some snarry drabbles and a couple of pwp gift ficlets for snarry-shippers.

Things I do in fandom (reader, writer, artist, vidder, mod, beta, newsletter editor, reccer, lurker, squee-er): reader, writer, reccer (at snapedom and bottomsnape), beta (I regularly beta for snapelike, and beta for others when I can).

favorite Snape/Harry cliche: A fierce and harsh snape, who is vulnerable and tender but not sentimental. A very in-control snape, who comes undone/surrenders/submits utterly in passion/lust/love. I love bottom!snape, but it's not a neccessity.

Top three favorite Snape/Harry works, links if you've got 'em:
I can't do just three - sorry.
- tira nog's Whispers of Intent - (actually all of tira nog's snarry)
- femmequixotic's L'ouragan
- dementordelta's The Living Years
- raewhit's (joanwilder's) Sex, Lies and Audiotapes initially I was going to say "Strong at the Broken Places" or "The Sensible Garden" but then I thought of this wonderful new story.
- acidburn and sinick's Commonplace Magic - and also "The Snidget" in this year's snarry_games.

Snape or Harry?: Snape.

Other fandom(s): Hmmm, not really. Within HP, snupin and to a lesser degree any Snape-centric slash pairing.

Anything else you'd like us to know: I'm shy but friendly, introverted but talkative. If you're sensitive to isssues of grief or suicide, my journal might not be a comfortable place for you, as I'm still trying to deal with my partner-of-12-years unexpected suicide late last year, and I do sometimes refer to that. There will be (rare) graphic details if I flashback to the day itself, but that's infrequent and I do try and filter/warn for grisly content.

Hi! Sorry, and you didn't scare anyone away. At least, you didn't scare me away. :) I just wasn't sure if I was supposed to reply to others' comments. I'm new to this meme thing, lol.

Sad, but not grisly

*waves* Hi! I love your writing. But --

*looks over shoulder*

-- don't leave Snupin behind, either! ;-)

I was away from fandom when your loss occurred. It was terrible, no one should have to be so suddenly bereft. But your being willing and able to share it with other fen is one of the things that makes fandom so *real*, which is one of the reasons it's so brilliant being in fandom. Never stop! *hugs*

Hehe! I've no intention of abandoning the beloved snupin, I can assure you. As angsty as it can be, Snarry feels lighter, easier, to me though.
I'm so thrilled (and a little surprised) that you know and ike my writing - you've absolutely made my day!
Thanks for the kind words of support.

hi there!

i also love all of tira nogs snarries!

are the other ones bottom!snape too?

Let's see: femmequixotic doesn't do much bottom!snape. Femmequixotic is one of the best writers around though, and well worth reading if you like quality fiction. Her story Exegesis is one of my all-time favorites too.

Dementordelta always delights me with her bottom!snape - it always takes me by surprise with her, and she writes it deliciously. The Living Years is bottom!snape. She's a not-to-be-missed prolific writer, with many wonderful stories.

Raewhit/Joanwilder doesn't tend to write bottom!snape, but her writing is brilliant and not to be missed. A newer story of hers, Angelsey, is a particular favorite of mine.

Commonplace Magic is one that I frequently re-read, but alas, is not bottom!snape.

Here are my bottom!snape tagged recs on delicious - I'm hoping that you can access the page without signing in.

oh thank you for your rec-page! there were some i haven't read yet, a nice surprise!

when it comes to bottom!snape i am quite the omnivor. i love good fics, but am not above reading bad!fics (it helps that i learned english quite late - with ten or eleven. so i am not too concerned about grammar, syntax, etc., ...:D )

saying that, i don't mind snarries that are more equal - if that makes sense in english? - i just don't like bottom!harry (or effeminate or chan!harry) because to me he's so young and cute :D

so, when a story is not to this preference of mine i still read it - i read all the classics like "if you are prepared" or "the marriage stone" but i just read "around" the x-rated scenes :D ... but i can still enjoy the story ...
