Happy Valentine's Day
I hope no one minds if I give you some new designed virtual Choco-Galleons. (I added photos of the original clay plaque and the silicon mold I made and some rumblings about worries under the cut)
Notes: Rakina, Lilyseyes, I'm so sorry to spoil your surprise. Just can't believe the post is sooo slow :(
So, I had that silly idea that I want to give Snape Plaques to my friends for Valentines. I planned to use polymer clay but I changed my mind during the process and decided to make chocolate galleons instead. I needed a mold first to make enough pieces. Used my normal clay for the original and after a rather pathetic first attempt I settled for the second one. As I have never done something like this, there was some fumbling, swearing, restarting involved but finally I managed to sent them to my friends somewhat satisfied.
Next weekend I went to my parents' place and took the remained piece to show (off :D) it to my nephews. I don't know if it was the temperature or whatever but the surface of the chocolate changed horribly. Not only the color went off (it lost its shine and paled) but the texture became something like worm-eaten, quite disgusting, believe me *shudder*. (I envisioned the scenes when my friends open their "presents" with horror.) I consulted some people and decided to make another attempt. This time I used 85% cocoa fine chocolate (they told me the less cocoabutter is the better) and I hope it won't change. Plus, extra dark and bitter is just suits our Severus :)
