Note: this is a prequel of sorts to Motherless Child, in which Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a child. This takes place before the series begins, soon after the end of the first war against Voldemort. Warning for some very nasty homophobic attitudes and language.
The last thing Severus had wanted was to attend Pride with someone who'd once attempted to eat him, but then again he hadn't expected to survive the wizarding war. Yet here he was, with Remus Lupin, listening to an earnest young woman describe how carbon emissions were destroying the ecosystem.
Severus could not help snorting at one particularly passionate plea for wizards to join the fight. “We don't use Muggle technology. What are we supposed to do, recycle our house elves?”
“Don't you live in a Muggle town during hols?” Lupin asked mildly. “Eat tinned foods? Those use carbon.”
