Note: this is a prequel of sorts to Motherless Child, in which Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a child. This takes place before the series begins, soon after the end of the first war against Voldemort. Warning for some very nasty homophobic attitudes and language.

“Isle Royale Academy is for werewolves only,” said Lupin. He slid in across the table from Severus as if they were old friends and began reading a story about Chris Smith's Wizarding connections. “I had no idea MP Smith's third cousin was one of us. This - “
“Why are you reading my newspaper?” Severus interrupted. “If this is an effort to out me, I'm not a helpless schoolboy anymore.”
Lupin frowned and set down the paper. “Out you? Why would I do that?”
Because you're a Marauder, Severus thought.
