Note: this is a prequel of sorts to Motherless Child, in which Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a child. This takes place before the series begins, soon after the end of the first war against Voldemort. Warning for some very nasty homophobic attitudes and language.
“Severus Snape?”
The voice was familiar, but the silver streaks in the mouse-brown hair were not. Severus blinked as he set aside the Leaky Cauldron's excuse for tea. “Yes? Can I – Lupin? Is that you?”
“The very same.” The one marginally tolerable Marauder smiled. “The semester in America just ended so I'm home for the summer. How have you been?”
“Quite fine.” Why was the man so damnably happy? “Bitten anyone lately?”
“Not at a school for young werewolves.” Remus Lupin pointed at Severus' (new) Pink Parchment. “May I?”
Severus stared. Remus Lupin was gay?
