Challenge: holiday drink

Notes: this is a Motherless Child fic, wherein Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a young werewolf. Also, the drink recipe is something called “Aristocrat's Punch,” and dates from early in 1942.
“Your father got this where?” Severus frowned at the age-browned slip of paper.
“From an American sergeant during the war,” said Remus. He lined up bottles of champagne, brandy, and burgundy. “He was a bartender in civilian life, so when they liberated a wine cellar - “
“He made sure his friends got roaring drunk.” Severus scanned the rest of the recipe. “Ice blocks?”
“It was winter.” Remus gave a very Gallic shrug. “They probably used snow.”
“Sounds delicious,” muttered Severus, and wondered again how a group of mad, drunken Americans had defeated the Boche.
