The newt was hungry when it arrived in Severus' lab. He offered it a sandwich (refused), a heaping portion of Hagrid's skrewt pellets (refused with an angry sniff), and a bowl of Siberian ice crickets (also refused, with extreme prejudice and a colossal mess after the creature threw the bowl out of its enclosure into the nearest fireplace).
In desperation, Severus dumped several flobberworms into the enclosure. These proved suitable, and as revolting as the next few minutes were, Severus could not resist pulling out his camera.
“Put these in your family album, Potter,” he muttered, and snapped away.
