The little pub in Mayfair was crowded, noisy, and smelt of food and people. Severus nearly apparated back to Diagon Alley at the sight of so many Muggles.
"Severus? Sorry I'm late!" Remus Lupin, cheeks flushed with the cold, hurried up to join him. He was limping slightly and had his hands jammed in the pockets of his trousers. "I hope you haven't been waiting too long."
"No." Severus shook his head. Why had he agreed to this? "Lupin, this - "
"Oh dear." Lupin frowned at the pub. "I'd forgotten it was darts night. Shall we go somewhere else?"
