Note: this is a crossover with Cecilia Tan's wonderful Magic University series, set at Veritas, the magical version of Harvard. It's set after the fourth book, which ended with a magical cataclysm called the Burning Days.
"So. How do you like Veritas so far?"
Severus looked up at the pretty, smiling woman with the blessedly familiar accent. "It's a - "
"Culture shock, isn't it?" She eased down next to him at the lunch table. "Damiana Pendragon, enchantress."
"Severus Snape, potions master." He hesitantly shook hands. "I'm here from Hogwarts for the autumn semester."
She had a good strong handshake. "You'll get used to it soon enough. Nothing is quite like Hogwarts, but this is a good place."
Severus jerked as yet another electronic device went off at the next table. Didn't anyone here use owls?
