Note: this is a Motherless Child drabble series, wherein Snape and Lupin have adopted a young werewolf. Johnny is about seven here.
"'One would hope'?" Remus shook his head as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. "They're going to be fine."
"They'll have an easier time than his parents." Severus rubbed his left arm, staring at the telly. He had never forgiven himself for faltering during the royal wedding in 1981.
"This one knows what she's doing," said Remus. He lightly rubbed the gold band on Severus' left ring finger. "They're going to cut the cake, love. We should join them."
"I daresay you're right." Severus let himself be guided into the dining room.
