Mod-Speak and Special Challenge
Original poster: faith1922
Okey-dokey.
You see, your lovely mods (me and physixx) have come the agreement that summer-break-fanfic-hole deserves very special treatment. So I'm handing you all a special challenge.
Below you find five first and five last sentences for a fic. Your job is to choose one of each and fill the space in between with at least 3.000 words of H/D or H/D compliant goodness.
Your finished fic must be posted here one slythindor100 between 1st, September and 12th, September. No fake cuts please, just this once.
On the 12th we'll close the challenge and have a big fat vote-fest (How exactly we're going to vote is still in the works though, depending on whether you guys want to leave it to us, or vote as well).
The winner of the best fic gets a big fat banner procliming them to be the bestest writer in the world and either a two months paid account or an add on.
Now for the challenge itself:
First sentences:
1: You know how they always say what doesn't kill you makes you harder?
2: Harry Potter had wished to be in a different place many times in his life, but never as strongly as in that moment.
3: It was raining the seventh day in a row and there was no end in sight.
4: It happened in August, not May, not December, August, the month that is usually reserved for heat, homework and romances.
5: "Shut up, or I'll kiss you!"
Last sentences:
1: "You know, I don't think this is what people had in mind when they invented that."
2: She smiled and quietly closed the door on her way out, knowing that she wouldn't be needed anymore tonight.
3: Kissing his lover he wondered where he could get whipped cream and chocolate cake from at this time of day.
4: They were going to be just fine.
5: The sun would rise again, like it always did, not caring in the least if he was there to see it or not.
Tenses may be changed, but nothing else.
Have fun, see you on the 12th.
