Excerpt:
Ron sits with Seamus and Dean on the lawn adjacent to the Quidditch Pitch.

“Man, Lavender is looking fit, lately,” Dean says.

“Oy, she has. But have you seen the Patil twins?” Seamus whistles his approval, shaking his hand as if he had touched something scorching hot.

They do this religiously – laze about on a sunny day, talking about girls and rivalries. Usually, Ron is just as vocal as his two cohorts. Today, however, he sits silent and sullen. He stares at the Quidditch field where Harry and Cedric fly side-by-side, laughing in ways Harry used to laugh with Ron.
