Trying again!
Would anyone be up for a line set in the 90s? Before cell phones, rudimentary internet. They meet either through a chat room or a physical bulletin board where one is looking for someone to help pay for gas who also needs to get to a smaller city from the large one they're in (ie. 'I'm driving home [from Chicago] to Bend, OR for christmas with my folks, anyone need a ride to Oregon/willing to pitch in for gas? Leaving Dec. 19, call 555-555-5555').
On the way they pass through a town that they can't leave. Maybe the car dies and when they walk through they wind up passing the same landmarks until they realize it? Or they stay the night in a motel and wake up in a time loop?
Essentially I want to world-build a creepy rural town (maybe with some murders!) and put some gays in it.
