Something that the werecreatures always took for granted, given the strict hierarchy and natural order within their packs. Sure, humans have been using the same definitions for a while in the twentieth century but they had no idea what impact these ranks have on their supernatural neighbors, that their entire dynasties are built upon them, that they are a matter of their survival...
