His boyfriend and him have recently broken up so that money he was saving for a surprise vacation was just sitting there until he saw an ad for a bears, daddies, and chasers resort weekend or cruise online. It's a bit out of character for him to go to something like this but he's always been interested in bears and older men so he thought why not. It'd be a need distraction.
