A taster of the ideas I'd love to write:
• Action/ crime; I love writing hunters, cops, hunter/ hunted, knights, warrior-priests, etc..
• Supernatural/ horror; give me ghost towns, portals to a scarier world, abandoned ruins, haunted houses, stumbling into the dark corners of the earth, finding out the Awful Truth or a Dark Destiny. • Rival mages, dark and light spiritualists clashing, mages with different paradigms, (far) Eastern mages.
• Cults, shadowy organisations, conspiracies and manipulation/ obfuscation of information/ The Truth.
• Urban fantasy; mages in the modern world living in the shadows, parallel dimensions and people falling between gaps, the machinations of families with the gift of magic struggling to maintain their positions of power, imaginary friends gone wrong, unknowingly living on the edge of two realities.
• Lines set in cities/ towns other than the usual suspects. I like using environmental details as allegories of what is happening in the line.
