I was writing this SL years ago but my partner disappeared when it got good and I'd love to continue it. Here's the scenario:
You've just had a bad car accident. You wake up only to learn your family isn't your family. You're not the famous musician you thought you were. Your brothers aren't your brothers. You have a whole new life to adjust to, and all these people who claim to know you. You've been famous since you were a kid; you don't know what a normal life is like but you're about to find out. Only ... you can't hide your sadness that your best friend and/or brother isn't the same in this reality. His absence from this reality makes you incredibly depressed, until one day you see him on TV ... he's famous still, but on his own. You travel to see him perform and finally get the chance to meet him. And it's like he knows you, but how could he possibly? Suddenly you pass out, and when you wake up in the hospital, he's there, standing beside your bed. He had to come and make sure you're okay... He feels like he's met you before, but he can't quite put his finger on it. You tell him you feel like you're going crazy. He puts his finger to your lips and says: "you are".

Faces are not important for this idea. Really, you could be anyone. But bring me a PB Taylor Hanson and I'll love you. Our boys can be whatever you feel most comfortable with. Best friends who never went further? Brothers? Step-brothers? I'm cool with all that. It could change with each reality too.
