Character A is the leader of a medium scale gang interested in making money and helping the town he grew up in--except helping the town he grew up in involves getting rid of anyone he doesn't really like or that has been making things hard. He charges protection fees, sells drugs (outside of the city), fixes races and events, and pays for the schooling for kids with no money, or food and shelter for widowed women. No one is sure if they like or hate character A but they know they don't want to cross him.
Character B is the detective who grew up in the same town--does he help character A, does he bring him down? Does he accept bribes or does he ignore the gang leader till he needs him?
Black Mass type vibe here (read the book, so happy they made a movie even if it's not as good...)
Other options character A being a crooked politician who is doing good but not in a very legal way, and certainly not in a good way for his enemies.

Hi everyone
I play Andrew Kirke over at plagued_mods and I'd really love someone to pick up Jack Sloper as his best friend and secret crush; Jack would need to be a Gryffindor in the same year as Drew (Year 7) and it would be interesting if he was Half- or Pureblood. PB entirely open and up to you, although someone contrasting might be fun; Mehcad Brooks maybe?
Drew is his best friend and ridiculously in love with him, although he thinks it's a secret and isn't coming clean anytime soon. Drew's gone through some hard stuff after being imprisoned in Azkaban and he's come out a little cracked, but he's trying to keep it together and Jack would help.
