Hello everyone! I'm Charlie and I'm the writer for Bane. I've taken some liberties with his appearance (what can I say, I'm excited for Dark Knight Rising) and a few details of his past, but he is mostly a match to his comic book counterpart.
He's an escaped convict from an island in Central America. His father was a British mercenary and his mother was a revolutionary there, who was caught during an attempted coup. The authorities, believing his father had been part of the revolution (which he had) levied the sentence on his son in his stead. Born to a life sentence, the child grew up in one of the harshest prisons in the world. An inescapable fortress where he would live the entirety of his days. He grew up hard and fast, but was blessed with a gifted mind and the ambition to do something with it. He perfected his body and gathered all the knowledge he could, then broke out. He has been terrorizing the world ever since. He's crossed from both sides of morality and back again, settling on 'self-invested'. He has a sense of honor, but is a realist and quite ruthless. He most recently joined the Secret Six, where he has mellowed out a great deal and served as leader of his team. Sent on assignment to Skartaris, Bane instead winds up in the 1960's without his team and a with a lot of questions.
There's a lot of info in his profile about his past with the Batman and his abilities, but in short he's a surprisingly dangerous opponent. He appears much like a skull-cracker or dumb muscle, but is possessed of a brilliant mind and peak-level athletic ability. He's a superb strategist, martial artist, and is skilled in numerous fields of science to a high level. He's an expert in fear and the application of it, and is notably hard to keep locked down. But yeah, he only has one person who might be familiar with him in the city currently and has two he'd be very interested to see in the current time period. And everyone he hasn't met is always of interest to him, either as a tool or learning experience..depending on which side of the monster is showing that day. I look forward to writing with everyone and the great characters I've seen so far!
