Cameron nodded. "I was reading the postings on the bulletin boards the other day. People seem to be coming here from all sorts of places and times. One said he was here from the 51st century. Maybe I should have asked when you are from, not where?"
"I don't even have my adopted family any more. Most of them moved on from California. I have my little apartment and my car and ballet. Some night I go out and try to get a feel for New York, but there is just me most of the time."
"What are you going to do while you look for your mother?" She sampled her drink with satisfaction. Alcohol didn't affect her artificial neural network, but a sufficient amount did provide a sort of cushion between her mechanical and biological parts. "Will you go back into show business or get some other sort of job?"
