Albus' arrival had been a pleasant surprise. A shock at first (and still shocking when she thought too much on the fact that her quiet darling boy was a man grown), but she was acclimated to the idea of him being here. While she was curious as anything about what had happened in the years between her disappearance and his arrival, she didn't ask. Or hadn't yet; there was no telling when her self-control was going to give and she was going to ask questions she probably didn't want answers to.

She wondered suddenly if this was how Lily and the others felt. Here was someone who could tell her all about her future, and she wasn't sure she wanted to know.

Today though, she was determined not to think about too much of anything. It was a holiday -- apparently all over -- and she was going to enjoy it. She had a little bit of research to do for an article, but it could wait until this evening, really. She was kind of keen on getting out of the flat for a bit, and Lily had mentioned going somewhere to spend the day. Ginny thought that had sounded like a fantastic idea, so she'd followed suit. Not to the same place though -- or if Lily was here somewhere, they hadn't crossed paths yet.

It hardly mattered. She was here to look at the exhibits and to immerse herself in things that had nothing to do with being stuck and trapped and everything else.

Lois nodded, her lips pursed in a thin line. “Maybe,” she agreed. Privately she hoped that wasn't the case. Currently the only friends Lois wanted here involved those that might have information she could use in either getting her job back or getting her home. And even that goal resembled something far too similar to building a life for her tastes.

Some of the terms she used caused Lois to frown. She could only assume that they were some sort of futuristic slang that people used in England. “Flying brooms,” she repeated, testing the phrase. Lois smiled briefly. She could only just imagine the possibility of it. “Must be fun. Do you use motors?” Even that barely made sense to her, but it was the only logical conclusion that she could draw that didn't sound completely out there.

"Magic," Ginny replied. She wondered again if she really shouldn't be so out about it, but why not? It wasn't as though it was a secret people were coming form different times and realities, so why should she hide what she was? There was no Statute here -- if there was, she would have been contacted shortly after she arrived.

Still, the idea of motorized brooms and bludgers in a quidditch match made her grin. "The balls are charmed to move on their own. The bludgers and the snitch, anyway.

Then she wondered a little if any of the wizards or witches here could charm some brooms and they could play some sort of match. It was something to look into if they were stuck here much longer ... though she wasn't sure who else would want to play. Sirius for sure. Maybe Lily, Albus, and Dean. Otherwise, she just didn't know.

“Ah.” More magic. New York City was quickly climbing the charts of weird places to live. “A magician once turned my cousin into me,” explained Lois with a shrug. “I was in Mexico at the time so I never really understood the specifics of it.” She was pretty sure that magic played a role in some of her other adventures. The ones that she couldn't remember when she woke up. She wondered if that would happen here. If she would wake up back in Smallville and not remember ever being in New York City.

“Sounds like a challenge.” Lois imagined people flying on brooms, reaching out to catch various balls, while trying to remain upright. People must fall a lot in that game. Or, she supposed, they would have to have really good balance. She took a guess, “And the goal is to catch them?”

Ginny nearly asked if it had been Polyjuice, but reasoned that would take more explaining than the question was worth, since the answer was likely to be no anyway. Still, it was kind of interesting, and she shook her head at the thought of it. "Everything worked out in the end though?"

A little grin played over her lips. "Sort of. The goal is to find the snitch, which is a small gold ball, fits in your palm but it has wings and it flits about. The quaffle's tossed around and the goal is to score with that one through the big goal hoops. The bludgers are very large, heavy balls that are swatted around by beaters, and the goal is to dodge those. Or to hit people with them, depending on which side you're on." She nodded. "It's both simpler and more complex than all that, but that's the gist of it. Seven players on a team, and each player has their own duty in regard to the various balls. I played both Chaser and Seeker, which meant I either tried to score with quaffles or find the snitch."

“It did,” replied Lois. “She just sorta came to terms with where her life was and she changed back.” She could, of course, understand the appeal of being Lois Lane. She certainly enjoyed it. But there was a part of Lois that would never really understand what Chloe had been thinking when she suddenly wished to have a different life. Lois may have had the career, but Chloe had the intelligence and the husband that loved her and that close bond with Clark. Her life was pretty good the way Lois saw it. Well, except for the whole giant rock she had for a stalker. But that came later.

Watching people get hit by large, heavy balls sounded about as exciting as a monster truck rally. Almost. She didn't think anything could ever match the thrill of watching two large trucks pound into each other. “Sounds like . . .” Lois suddenly raised her hand and waved. The security guard had finally headed back into the room and it was back to business. “Sounds like my kinda game. If you'll excuse me.”

She took a few steps and then paused, pulling a business card from her pocket. It had the Daily Planet logo on it, but her work number had been scratched off and replaced with her contact information for the Welcome Center. She doubled back and handed her the card. “Just in case you hear anything.” Lois could use all the help she could get, after all. Even if it meant handing her information off to random people that probably wouldn't want it.

Ginny nodded as she took the card, offering a smile and a nod to the security guard as well. "Of course," she replied to Lois, glancing down to the card before pocketing it. "Best of luck," she added before she lifted her hand in a wave to the woman.

Moving away, she returned her attention to the exhibits, content enough to lose herself again in her thoughts and wander through the museum a little while longer.
