Who: Albus Potter and Lily Evans
When: 5:15 p.m. Monday, August 29
Where: In front of the Museum of Natural History
What: Albus has just arrived and gets found by his paternal grandmother
Rating/status: TBD

Albus ran a hand back through his hair and pushed his glasses up. He was the only Potter doppelganger that didn't have to always wear glasses and he occasionally just wore them in his hair. It was without his glasses that the slight facial features that could be seen in Ron's face could be seen in Albus', pieces of his mother shining through. It was those pieces that people always overlooked. Albus 'Looked so much like his father and in turn his grandfather. Albus didn't even get the added bonus where they said something about his grandmum Lily's eyes. He had his father's eyes, the same his grandmother had.

With a tired sigh Albus pushed away from the table. He had been doing research for the past four hours, or so he had thought. He pulled his silver pocket watch out checking the time only to find he had been sitting there for seven hours. He pinched the bridge of his nose knowing his two housemates were going to be livid. Albus had promised Teddy he would be home for dinner and here he was four hours late rather than the one hour he had thought. Albus was going to have a great deal of explaining to do. He gathered his things and rushed out the door deciding to walk the handful of blocks over to Grimmauld. It was a nice night after all.

Albus didn't even register the lighting when he stepped out of the Museum. He flew down the stairs and it wasn't until he reached the last step that something registered as being off. Albus' long legs tangled up and he stumbled to the ground. There was supposed to have been another step there but there hadn't been. Albus had come up and down those steps for years now. He knew them well. He looked up from the pile of limbs he had ended up on the concrete and it hit him full force. It was light outside, something it shouldn't have been, and this decidedly was not London!

A dark brow arched and Albus blinked. His gran shouldn't know who he was but the question of how she did was quickly answered. "Mum thinks I'm six? I haven't been six in fourteen years. No, mum is from when I was six..." He paused and considered what he had said and shook his head. "This is bloody daft."

Albus was a man that took things in stride. His feathers didn't get ruffled by many things. He was just trying to wrap his mind around it all. He listened to all Lily had to say and digested it and rolled it around in his mind. "Well if anything a historian can't complain about being in the past."

A laugh escaped Albus and he couldn't have stopped it had he tried. "Mum hasn't quite learned how full of surprises I am yet, especially not if I'm only six where she is from." He looked down at his young grandmother and gave her a gentle hug. The gesture was fleeting but heartfelt. Albus just wasn't good with social situation usually. "I can also appreciate getting to meet people I never had the pleasure of knowing."

Lily was starting to feel a little like the woman who kept bringing home stray pets, and she imagined that at some point she was going to hear 'not another one!' from someone in the flat. Still, they were family, whether or not she'd met them yet, and she wasn't going to just leave her family to the wolves, such as it was.

Still, she nodded. "She's from 2012. November, I think she said. I'm from December of '78. So I'm not ... even married yet," she said. "Your mum and I are sharing a flat with Remus and Sirius. They're both from different points of 1981. Remus from before ... and Sirius from after. So ... I know ... what happens." She shook her head a little awkwardly before she shrugged. There were aspects of that she was still dealing with, even now.

She was a little surprised by the hug, but not displeased. After all, it wasn't as though they'd ever be able to do this in their own times. She returned the hug gently. "I can bring you 'round and you can ... say hi to them. I'm sure no one would protest if you wanted to borrow the couch.

"There's a welcome center, for the people like us. They'll give you a room and food and clothes for a month while you find employment and your own place but I'm sure we can work out something for you as well." For all she knew, now that he was here, he and Ginny might get their own flat, and that would settle that matter. She'd see though, however it played out. Either way, she wasn't going to leave her grandson in the cold.

Speaking of ... Lily glanced up to him. "Severus is ... is here as well. I'm not sure how keen on meeting you he'll be, but ... you could try, I imagine. I haven't ... I don't think anyone's told him that James' grandson is named after him."

"Still an Evans and not yet a Potter. No worries, I won't hold it against you." Albus gave a slight smile as he stuffed his hands in his slack pockets. If he hadn't he was about to start fidgeting and it was just a nasty habit to have in all truth. The mention of bringing him around to meet the others brought a wider smile to his lips.

"I would love to meet them all." Albus was trying to not think negatively. He did wonder what his grandfather's friends would think of him though. Albus was a Slytherin and well placed. He was subtle and cunning and while his ambitions were different from most of those put in the house they were still the things that drove him.

Mention of Severus Snape brought Albus out of his wandering thoughts. "I would indeed love to meet him. I know Jamie would love to meet Sirius probably most of anyone we aren't related to but...I have to say my curiosity always lay elsewhere." What Lily said about Albus made him give a light chuckle. "Do you think it would help if you told him James' Slytherin grandson was named after him?"

"Well, we didn't know which house you were in," Lily murmured. "Your mum thought you'd be a 'claw, I think." She wondered if Ginny would be disappointed, but she didn't think she would be. Not outwardly, at any rate. Lily herself harbored no prejudice against the house itself, though several of its members had earned her displeasure while she was in school. It was a house, the same as the others. She disliked Death Eaters and Pureblood elitists, not Slytherins.

"Though I'm sure ..." Actually, she was sure of nothing when it came to Severus. Things were still so shaky between them. "Well, I suppose I'll leave that up to you. He checks the boards so I'm sure if you addressed a note to him, he'd see it." He might not respond to it, but Lily was sure he'd see it.

"Come on then," she encouraged gently. "We'll go see who's home and introduce you around."

"The Hat considered it but put me elsewhere." Albus wouldn't ever tell anyone he had asked for his house placement. It had been that talk with his father on the train platform that did it. Albus wondered what his father's life would be like had he let the house sort him into Slytherin rather than asking it not to.

"I've talked a few times to his portraite in the head master's office. He wasn't too pleased I got caught doing whatever got me there but I usually only ended up getting caught when it involved Jamie." It was always James' fault when they got caught. James couldn't follow a plan and always ended up going off and not listening. You didn't involve your younger brother for a well mastered plan and then not follow it.

"Right, lets go then." Albus was nervous for certain. He didn't know how he would be received by any of the other three. His mother was a hard one to predict at times and he wasn't her quiet little boy any more. He was her peculiar adult son with social ticks now. There was also Lupin and Black to consider. Albus was sure that Lupin would be a polite fellow but the same couldn't be said for Black.

Lily smiled a little. "The hat didn't even hesitate when it proclaimed me a Gryffindor," she admitted. She wondered if she would have chosen something else if she'd been given the option, but she really wasn't sure.

It always threw her when people spoke of Sev's future. Professor. Headmaster. Ginny had explained, somewhat, but Lily was certain the true motivating factor was being glossed over or left out somewhere. Still, there was probably a reason for that, and she was content to leave it alone. For now, anyway. "So James is like his grandfather then?" She wondered if Lily was like her, though she wouldn't ask too much about those sorts of things.

"It'll be fine," she assured Albus quietly. "They're lovely people, all of them, and I'm sure they'll love to see you." Well, Ginny might be a little freaked out to see him older, and Sirius was bound to poke at his name, at least in jest, but it would be fine eventually.

Then they could discuss ... well, everything else, over dinner. "Did you happen to have much money on you?" She asked. "There's a place we can sell our coins for Muggle money. I can teach you how to work it. I'd say ask your mum, bit she still stumbles over the Muggle coins." Lily flashed him a little smile before she started off toward their flat.
