Simon Tam ([info]can_swear) wrote in [info]silverage,
Simon had heard about the crash of the 'strange plane thing' not so very far from the hospital, and his first thought was River. That'd she'd somehow tried to find him and made it here. It was ridiculous, he knew; if she was here, it wasn't because she'd done anything to get here. He didn't think the place worked that way.

Still, he'd hunted down his supervisor and with the tracing paper thin excuse of going out to look for injuries (though surely any would have been reported by now), Simon headed out to go see what was really going on out there. It was probably just luck he'd even heard about this at all; a chance conversation in a hallway he was passing through.

He recognized the shuttle; he'd seen it often enough, hadn't he? "River," he whispered as he started to look around to see which of Serenity's crew had crash-landed in 1964. He followed the sound of voices through the dispersing crowd, and was simultaneously relieved and disappointed to see it was Kaylee, and she was apparently unhurt. He was sorry she was stuck here now like he was, but glad to see her here, and alive.

"Kaylee," he called softly to try to get her attention, though he did nod to the other person she was talking with so he wouldn't seem quite so rude for interrupting their conversation.
