Who: Jadis White, aka The White Witch and Abby Donne, aka Xaphania When: Friday evening Where: a few blocks from the Welcome Center What: Xaphania finds getting used to her human body difficult Rating: Low at the moment Status: closed
Xaphania had spent a frustratingly long period of time examining the full boundaries of this city before accepting that she would not be able to get out. She couldn't travel through the city to another world either. It seemed she was good and sealed off from everything.
She'd taken a human body before, but this was different. Xaphania had a feeling this was going to be a little more different. Still, she was immensely relieved to see that she didn't have to come up with a daemon for herself. That was always more difficult. The woman she chose was older, but not too old, and fit a deinition that many would call 'pretty'. After taking the form, she walked around, trying to get used to the body. Someone had noticed her ... discomfort and asked if she was new arrival. When she heard she wasn't the only to get stuck, her interest was fully piqued. No longer needing to pretend to be a native human, she eagerly accepted directions to the Welcome Center.
The immediate thing was the lost of senses. A breeze blew and in her human form, she barely felt it. The ground was springy in her shoes, and already she missed the freedom to fly. There might be some strange people about, but a being made entirely of Dust was sure to draw far too much attention - more than was needed at the moment. If the time ever came when she needed to, she could rearrange herself into something more practical, or shed the layers entirely.
It wasn't until she had walked a bit that Xaphania realised she'd need a human name. So many to choose from. She had used Abby Donne before and found it more than suiting, so she decided to stick with that. As for where she was from ... she had just come from checking in on Lyra, and that was a world vastly different from this one. Perhaps that would suit her. Perhaps Will's world would. Perhaps a different world entirely. She would make up her mind when she arrived.
If she arrived. The directions had been horrid, even by human standards, and Xaphania found herself having to ask for them again.
"Excuse me," she said to a woman who looked a bit like her. "I'm looking for the Welcome center."
