Ginny had more or less recovered from the evening prior. She hadn't even heard when Lily and Sirius had come back in, but she hadn't seen either of them at breakfast so she assumed it had been late. She honestly wasn't sure how she felt about Lily ... well, being a teenager and going out, but she guessed she didn't have any grounds to say anything either way. Lily wasn't married, after all, and James wasn't here. The logic didn't suit her, personally, but she didn't have to follow in any footsteps she didn't want to.

Exhaling softly, she dressed in her most respectable clothing from her limited options and did what she could with her hair. She rolled her shoulders and studied herself in the mirror and decided she looked presentable enough.

Besides, theoretically, she wasn't going to be in front of any customers and it wasn't as though this was an actual interview. It was just a chat to see if they were compatible and if the job would suit. Or if she would suit the position. She did hope it worked out; she'd love to be able to write her. She had no idea about art though, but she trusted the woman (whose name she didn't even know!) would instruct her in anything she needed to know.

The trip from the flat to the gallery wasn't horrible. She was slowly learning the bus routes (and proper change for the buses, which meant dealing with the coins), and finding that most people were fairly helpful about directions. The blokes tended to laugh a bit like she was some poor dumb lost puppy who didn't know her arse from her elbow, but what of it? Let them have their condescension.

When she finally arrived, she stood outside for moment simply regarding the exterior of the place before she let herself inside. Not generally prone to nerves, she did feel a brief flutter of them if only because all of this was so damn foreign to her, and she hated being out of her element. It made her feel off-balanced, and that was annoying.

"Hello?" She called out softly as she looked around to see if she could find the woman who'd directed her here.

"Twenty-five here at the main gallery, a few less at the others around the city," she replied. "If you were interested in working here, you would be a part of the Public Engagement team. It's a fun job, I think, if you like people." Which...she didn't really, but that was quite alright. Best face forward, as they say!

Opening the door to her 'office,' which was a vast open space covered with tarps on the floor, dust and plaster from the sculptures she was working on, and tools a plenty, Jadis shook her head remorsefully. "I am afraid I do not. I don't particular care for being someone's puppet though, I will tell you that much. That's all it seems to be."

Ginny nodded. For the most part, she liked people well enough. "How many galleries are there, all together?" She asked, since Jade had mentioned the others. Honestly, she hadn't anticipated such a large scope but then she hadn't really had anything to base it on, either. While twenty-five wasn't exactly a lot of people, especially in a city this big, it seemed a lot to her. "Do you exhibit any other art, or strictly sculptures?" She asked, thinking of Dean. While she had no idea what the criteria was for getting accepted into an art gallery, maybe it was something he could look into.

"No," she agreed. "I don't like any of this. I have a family at home, and ... obligations there." Ginny frowned, but she didn't think venting about it was going to do her any good or make a positive impression on Jade. She could only hope they found a way to turn it around and send everyone back home.

She busied herself clearing off a table so they could sit and chat. It really did look like a dedicated sculptor who had been at her craft for years and years worked in here - but really, Jadis's wand did most of the work. She had been learning the art of sculpture, however, because it was sort of a necessity when you owned a few galleries and thus had to appear at events and know what you were talking about.

Gesturing for Ginny to take a seat, Jadis continued. "There are three in total, and for now it's just strictly sculptures but I'd be open to other types of art, if I could create a display and pair it with another already here. There's lots of room for creativity, and I love all types of art."

She smiled a little, sympathetically. "I understand. No one likes being wrenched from what they know, but alas, I suppose we make the best of it. I'll tell you a bit more about the position and what it entails, but really, from one fellow time-traveler to another I'd just be glad to help you out."

Ginny nodded as she took a seat, resting her hands on her thighs. Maybe she'd mention it to Dean anyway, in case he wanted to pursue that avenue. She really wasn't sure now what he was up to and what he'd settled on as far as a job here went. "That's good," she said quietly as she tried to corral her thoughts and bring them back to the present.

While she was tempted to just chat for a bit, to ask Jade where and when she was from, Ginny thought it best to get the important job stuff covered and out of the way so she'd know if this was even something she was capable of doing -- or at least learning how to do -- before she decided whether or not she might have a job here. "I appreciate it," she said with a soft smile. "It's ... difficult, trying to fit in a place that's so very different from your own home.

"So tell me about the position then?" She prompted.

Ah, a smart girl! Not wanting to discuss the weather or their hopes and dreams, but instead getting to business. Jadis could appreciate that, at least. Brains were hard to come by these days.

"Well, it's sort of a...Communications Associate, that's the official title," she began. "Hence why I was so interested in your Journalism background. But what you would be doing would be researching and writing press releases for the gallery and special exhibitions, managing exhibition press events like the logistics and coordinating interviews with media and the staff, responding to press inquiries, coordinating interviews, writing correspondence, and sending other communication materials..."

She paused. "Does that sound feasible? I imagine it wouldn't take you long to pick up on how things work around here."

Ginny was at least marginally familiar with all of those jobs, in that she at least had a basic grasp on what they were. She was no stranger to the press -- on both the talking to and talked about sides -- but she couldn't say she'd done most of those jobs.

It didn't mean she couldn't, however. None of them alone sounded overly complex, and she was no stranger to research, to writing, to people. It would just be a matter of learning how it was handled here and to not lean too much on how things had been done at home.

"It doesn't sound like too much," she ventured cautiously. "Nothing I'm not at least a little familiar with, even if I've never done it before. I'd be willing to try, even on a trial basis if you'd like."

Jadis nodded, fingertips pressing together in a pyramid shape, drumming a rhythm there. "Good," she said in a business-like way, but was pleased to have found someone to take this job. "We'll give it a fortnight and see how you like it? I'm perfectly confident that you can pick it all up, at any rate." It's not like Ginny could do any worse than the last person in the job, whose condition was now...stagnant. But he was a silly man and had a bad habit of leering too much for the White Witch's taste.

"Sounds good," she agreed with a smile. She hoped it did work out. The place seemed nice and Jade seemed competent and straight-forward, two things she'd appreciate in an employer. "So if there's any paperwork or anything to fill out or files I need to look over. Past ... works, interviews and that sort of thing I could look over to get a feel for what I'm about to leap into? That'd be great, if I could get a hold of that," she continued.

The more she had to look at and learn from, the better. Then she wouldn't feel quite so much like she was diving blind into this. If there wasn't anything specific to this, she'd search around for similar thing and go from there.

"Oh yes, of course...let me see..." Jadis had the foresight to save the projects that the tubby fat man in the job before had been working on. He was a decent worker but just an idiot, and she had about as much patience for idiots as...well, they didn't last long, let's just say.

She rummaged through one of the drawers in a cabinet (which housed various sculpting tools as well), pulling out a folder for Ginny's perusal. "This has some examples of what the previous employee had been involved in, and as for the official paperwork for the job I'll get that to you when you officially start. Say tomorrow? The hours the gallery's open are 8-5 on weekdays and 12-5 on Saturdays, closed Sundays. I work odd hours myself and normally wouldn't mind if you did but since the job requires interaction with the public and press and whatnot, they don't really keep the same night owl hours as myself."

Ginny took the folder, nodding slightly at tomorrow before frowning slightly. Well, maybe it would make more sense to come in while the place was closed and just familiarize herself with everything before being flung to the wolves, such as it was.

Then it struck her she'd said officially start, and Ginny supposed somewhere along the way she'd agreed to it, hadn't she? It was only a trial thing, and if it wasn't working out, well, they'd know in a week or so and she'd just try somewhere else.

"That sounds fine," she agreed with a quick nod as she opened up the folder to skim over the things within. "Is it all right if I take these home to look over? Or make copies of them?"

((I forgot it was a Saturday during this log so I guess that was supposed to be 'wow you can start Monday.' YAY KIM POSTING WHEN SHE'S HALF ASLEEP. I fail. -_- ))

"Of course, they're yours now, so you can do what you'd like with them," she agreed easily. It's not like she had any personal, emotional connection to what was there. Or much of anything, if we're getting technical. "I'm so pleased that you're going to be joining us here, Ms. Potter! I think it will work out - at least for the meantime, until we all figure a way out of this mess."

((XD figured something like that. No worries ))

Getting the feeling that things were wrapping up, Ginny nodded. She'd use the rest of the weekend to study the material and do some art research, and then dive right in on Monday. "I will do my best," she assured Jade, extending one hand across to her. "Thank you again for the opportunity. I hope it works out for both of us," she said sincerely.

She really did hope it worked. As long as she was stuck here, she may as well have a challenging job she could (hopefully) enjoy. "I'll study this and see you on Monday, hopefully all set to get started," she offered as she rose.

Jadis shook the redhead's hand - she had to admit she had always liked redheads, they were just so fiery - and smiled charmingly. "That sounds wonderful," she said, smoothing her skirt as she rose to all full 6'1 + 3 more heeled inches of her height. "I'll be here to introduce you to everyone and get you all situated."

She had no idea she was working with a fellow magic-user but she did at least genuinely seem to like the woman. Or at least not want to murder her in cold blood, and for Jadis that was a start.

"That sounds great," she agreed with a little smile. After her hand was released, Ginny offered a little wave and turned to see herself out, the folder held lightly against her body. She did take a moment to study the gallery on her way out.

It did seem pleasant enough, and she thought she'd be able to adjust to it all and do the assigned work. Hoped, at any rate. But she was adaptable if nothing else, and she really didn't think any of it would give her an insurmountable issue. Hiccups and road bumps, sure, but nothing she couldn't get over, she was sure of it.

Feeling like a burden had been lifted, Ginny headed out to head home to let Lily and the boys know she might be employed.
