Simon nodded. He could understand and even relate a little. Life on the ship was pleasant enough -- now -- and River seemed to like it well enough. But this, here, reminded him more of what he'd had to sacrifice. A steady location, a steady job at a fast-paced hospital, a steady source of income. These things he didn't have at home, and while he wasn't in a rush to hope this was a permanent thing, it was nice enough while he had it.
He just wished he knew why he was here, and if it was some fluke, how he'd gotten here. He still wanted to go back and would leap at the chance to do just that, but without answers and explanations, they had no where to even start looking.
"I know what you mean," he said quietly after a contemplative silence. "Maybe ... whoever's working on this situation will come up with something soon." He assumed people were working on it, at any rate.
