Rose frowned. She had been so sure that she had finally gotten the hang of the brightly coloured clothes women seemed to prefer in this era. Not that it really mattered. Even if she mastered the look, she’d never truly manage to blend. Her accent always gave her away soon as she spoke. “No. Sorry. Lost my ride,” said Rose with a regretful shake of her head. It took her another moment to truly process everything that he had said. So maybe it wasn’t the clothes that had given her away after all.
“Energy field?" she asked, genuinely curious. "How you getting that then?” He sounded a bit like Jack. He had always been getting all sorts of readings on those gadgets of his. That had to mean that this man had some sort of technology then. Right? She could hope. Her finger almost itched from the desire to pull out the phone she kept in her back pocket. It had died not long after she got here seeing as she had nothing to charge it up with. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to make calls with it. But she hoped with a bit of the Doctor’s jiggery pokery he might be able to at least reach her somehow.
