Angel(us) ([info]_biteoravoid_) wrote in [info]silverage,
The sudden snowstorm that had blanketed New York had taken most of the citizens by surprise, Angel included. While the cold had never bothered him, he had to keep up appearances. It wouldn't do well for him to show up for the night shift without, at the very least, a heavy winter coat. The one from last season had become the victim of a flood in his basement apartment. Now he was forced to purchase another one, long before he had planned to. This did not put him in the best of moods.

Standing in the men's department, he tried to keep to himself. The winter storm at least afforded him some time to cautiously walk the streets, though he still stayed close to alleys in case the sun came peeking through and he had to duck into the shadows for protection. It was so strange to be out during the height of the day, with people milling around, going about their daily business. It was more difficult for him to navigate with all the bustle of the daytime New York but it was a necessary evil.

Lee was hardly the only one intimidated as Angel stood there, his features knitted into a mix of disappointment and consternation. His fingers ran over a few of the jackets, a deep frown setting on his face when he noticed the prices of them. It was highway robbery! If it wasn't for the fact that he enjoyed having nice clothes, he probably would have just made his way down to the cheaper stores or even the Salvation Army.

Looking up from the rack, his eyes caught sight of the older man. He looked just as out of place and confused as Angel did. He gave the older man a nod of his head. It was a form of greeting but nothing too inviting. It was merely the type of gesture that indicated they were brothers in arms here, two old men in need of a jacket while neither of them really wanted to be here.
