After he'd heard the news, he had been in no mood to...move at all and had been quite happy to just stagnate in his room. He had an entire day to wallow in his grief, spin around his conversation with Sirius and turn it upside down and when evening came and he woke up from a brief nap, a short dream of coming home to Lily, James, Sirius, Peter and Harry, he finally knew what to do.
He had to spend as much time as he could with his best lady friend.
Remus at least had the grace to drag himself to the bathroom for a quick wash-up although he had no mood to look too presentable. He appeared in the doorway leading into the cafeteria in his comfortable wizard robes and the cloak he had put on when he met Sirius. He'd combed his hair and all, but he couldn't help looking drained and almost tasteless.
The moment he stepped inside the cafeteria, he spotted Lily sitting alone and he marched over to her -- first like a broken robot and then with the determination of a chugging train. It occurred to him to call her before he collided with her. So "Lily," he uttered but it might have come too late. As soon as she was within reach, Remus threw his arms around her and pulled her so tightly, so close to him, he might have wanted to just absorb her into him.
