Before waking up on the ground, the last thing Sookie remembered was taking the hand of Claudine with the promise that she could leave this place. She was so tried of everything around her, Bill, Eric and all the other supernatural shit that was going down. She just needed to get away from it all and that time in the hospital, when she first saw Claudine and the other fairies was amazing. Now, she was ready to go to that place and to forget about Bill and Eric. But, when she opened her eyes, she felt the hard and cold concrete of a sidewalk beneath her.
It took Sookie a few moments to come to it and when she finally did, she was not in some beautiful and magical place like she thought she would be. She was on a sidewalk, surrounded by buildings. She had to be in the city, just what city? When she finally stood up and started to walk, she could tell that the city was huge, much bigger then any of the cities that she’d ever been to.
As Sookie walked down the street, she could hear millions of thoughts of all those around her. Most of it was just jumbled up and there was too many at the moment for her to actually zone in on one. She wasn’t used to being around this many people. That, and the fact that she was very disoriented at the moment.
Sookie noticed the guy standing at the corner and went up to him. "Excuse me, this might sound a bit odd, but where am I?" She ducked her head down for a moment in a bit of embarrassment. She didn’t want to seem like some whacked out crazy person. She was also trying to see if she could maybe listen in on his thoughts.
