Who: Tonks, Amy Pond, and Donna Noble
What: Birds of a[n English] feather, flock together?
Where: The Welcome Center
When: Backdated to yesterday afternoon, after the conversations on the boards.

Tonks had gone straight to the community board before settling in. She had written her notes and then went exploring around the Welcome Center, taking an unofficial and impromptu sort of tour around the facility and sometimes returning in order to see what else was going on. The board thing was incredibly convenient, though she was trying to figure out how it worked exactly. Odd.

At any rate, it was informative at least. Odd, but informative. Unsure whether to take Snape's advice to heart just yet -- as the stubborn bit in her wanted to rebel against that entirely -- Tonks did figure that perhaps meeting the others around wouldn't be a bad idea. They could figure out how they each got here, find a common thread maybe, and then use that to go home. And these two women, Donna and Amy, travel in space. How cool was that? Tonks thought on this as she hung about the main entrance, looking for two gingers. She herself was still currently pink-haired, but maybe she'd go ginger for a bit as well later. It was always fun imitating Ginny's hair colour. Space cadeting her thoughts, the witch leaned back to press her back against the wall. She promptly missed, just a little too far from said wall for that to work, and ended up falling back on her ass instead. Slightly stunned, even if she knew that she shouldn't be, Tonks sat there and then started snickering at herself. "Dead graceful."

"How long have I been with 'im?" Amy parroted. "Well..." Now isn't that the toughest question to answer. "I met him when he crashed into my garden when I was seven, and then again when I was nineteen, but I didn't start traveling with 'im until about a year ago. Dunno how long he'd been alone before we met. Like I said, he had just, yanno, changed or somethin'. He was making even less sense than usual."

The thought of getting together with the other people on the boards who'd claimed to know the Doctor (or someone calling himself the Doctor, at any rate) had occurred to Amy before, and she had no real logical reason for having not done it already. If she had to blame something for her hesitation, Amy supposed she would have called it jealousy, of the same sort that she felt when she first met River. For her whole life, the Doctor had been her friend (imaginary or no), and the concept of having to share him with someone who quite possibly knew him better was still new to her. Yes, conceptually she understood that in his long, long life he'd known many more people than little Amelia Pond, but knowing something and acting accordingly were two separate issues. Sooo, she skirted around that particular question of Donna's, moving instead to the next one, about River.

"I take it you've met River, then? Doesn't sound like you have any more clue about her than I do. She shows up out of order, like when I first met her wasn't when she first met me." Amy shrugged. "Time travel," she said, as though that would explain everything. "The Doctor knows her more than I do, I think, but not much more. I don't think any of us really knows who she is yet, but my money's on wife. She calls him sweetie, can pilot the TARDIS better than he can, plus," Amy winked at Donna and threw Tonks a smile, feeling slightly bad for leaving her out of the conversation entirely, "they flirt constantly."

"Strange relationship, the two of you have. But normal for him, I suppose." Donna frowned. A year ago was 2010, for Amy, which meant it was two years after Donna had started to travel with him. So if he was alone, it couldn't have been long, right? Something must have happened to her, something to make her not be with him- and what did that mean, did she not have long to live or did the Doctor kick her out or-

Donna shook her head slightly, trying to dispel that train of thought. He was her best friend, the Doctor, and he wasn't going to leave he behind for no reason. Donna noticed but didn't mention the lack of an answer to her second question. She assumed Amy just hadn't been sure if the Doctor would okay such a meeting, although if Amy had known him so long, it could be jealousy, I suppose. Not likely, what with the husband.

"They flirt? He flirts with that woman who can't stop speaking rubbish for ten seconds? Last I saw them he didn't even trust her to know who he really was, what do you mean they flirt?" Donna was flabbergasted- the Doctor was a bit of a flirt, yes, but one assumed that marriage would involve some level of settling down, or commitment, and that was not something he'd ever do. Hell, he was more married to the TARDIS- or himself- than anyone she'd ever heard of. And pilot the TARDIS? Well, honestly. With practice anyone could pilot the damn thing, she'd flown it herself, under supervision.

She turned to Tonks, smiling apologetically. "I'm sorry, I know this probably isn't making any sense, and it was so nice of you to help me out, but I need these answers."

Tonks had been listening, arms loosely crossed over one another and gaze popping back and forth between the other two women like she was watching a particularly riveting Quidditch match. "Problem with time travel. S'why it's not rightly allowed." The bopping back and forth, meeting people for the first time and the last time backward. Time Turners were serious business in the witch's world.

"It's alright, then!" She replied when both of the time travelers turned toward her and apologised. It was waved off as she pushed off from the wall she had been leaning on, making the picture on the wall of the cityscape at nite crooked with the simple movement. "What do you mean by changed though?" The shapeshifter was curious about that, and looked between Amy and Donna for answers.

More and more, Amy liked this Donna woman. Her reaction to Amy's comments regarding River and the Doctor's flirting made Amy finally crack a laugh, because her description was so apt. It did often seem like River (and the Doctor too, for that matter) couldn't "stop speaking rubbish for ten seconds."

"I know," Amy answered Donna, still laughing, "they're perfect for each other."

As Tonks rejoined them, Amy took a moment to catch her breath before tying to explain what she'd meant about the Doctor changing. "Timelords have this thing they do when they're dyin', where their whole body changes. So then, instead of dying, they start over again as someone new." Amy had only seen it once before, and even then... well, she didn't want to think about that. "It's not like you where he could change whenever an' however he likes, but after he's regenerated-- tha's what it's called, regeneratin'-- there's a load of energy left over an' he can be kind of weird for a while until everything settles in." With a smile in Donna's direction, she finished with, "Not that he isn't always a bit weird."

IJ notifs are really not working, apparently. Sorry!

"Perfect for each other? All she did was whinge about him not recognizing her a stroke his face like some stalker! And then she tries to come to me, like i'm going to do something about it! I told her, I said she needed to stop talking rubbish and explain if she knew him or not but then she got all weird and looked at me like I had two heads just because I told her who I was." Donna could not stand it when people were deliberately difficult.

She laughed. "A bit? He's always very weird, but that's why you travel with him, isn't it? He's mad and impossible and the most fun you'll ever have is in that little blue box." Donna shook her head. "Well, do you know where he's staying? Is he around here or- where are you staying, anyway?"
