I don't know who else on board actually celebrates holidays this time of year, but I'd like to share a tradition from back home*. My family has never been particularly religious, more concerned with unlocking the mysteries of the universe than anything else, but we did do Christmas.
What we'd do, every year, is each pick out an ornament for the tree. So over time, the tree would become filled with memories. After my parents died, I'd pick out one for each of them as well as myself, and when I moved into my flat with Sam, it would be the only time of year I'd return to the Manor, to put away the ornaments for my parents. Sam and I started up our own version, just for us.
I don't really know why I wanted to share. I guess I miss them. I can guess what they'd pick out. Or have replicated, I suppose.
What if we put a tree up in one of the rec rooms. And the travellers could each hang up an ornament, if they chose?
Mary
Would you mind terrible much if we put up a tree in our common room? Regardless of what happens with the rec room.
*ooc: totally lifting the tradition from my wife's family
