I guess I can say I've experienced my first auction. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was a lot better than what I thought it would be. When someone mentions auctioning people, the first thing that comes to mind is the slave auctions from before the Civil War. Those were so barbaric and degrading, it's shameful to realize that those things are part of our history, but it's important to remember. I feel grateful that even though I was essentially "bought", it is only a temporary thing, and that I will never have to experience what our ancestors put others through.
