Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Gellert and Albus
WHEN: Now
WHERE: Wherever the wind takes us!
WHAT: Clearly I did not think this through.

Gellert was frustrated beyond all reason. The search for the Hallows had stalled, thanks to being catapulted into the future. All the trails had gone cold, he didn't even know where to begin to look for new information, and he was beginning to fear that it might be hopeless.

Obviously, it was vital that they return to their own time.

"Obviously," he said, pacing on the sidewalk in Hogsmeade, where they had come to enjoy the quaint village atmosphere because it was so crowded in the Ministry housing, "it is vital that we return to our own time."

Gellert paused and tapped a finger against his lips. He was wearing his jeans again, mostly because he could, and a rather fuzzy sweater that he feared made him look silly but which was quite warm. "But," he mused. "How to manage this. Perhaps! You should get a job in the Department of Mysteries."

Well, Gellert could hardly help being a big fan of things that most people would consider inappropriate - like premarital sex, and premarital sex with men, and premarital sex with men for the purpose of stealing a book.

Because that was the only reason he was contemplating it. Right?

"It is good hair," Gellert agreed. "I like yours too. Straight and such a beautiful shade." He smiled when Albus tugged at his hair and leaned closer.

The question was a surprise, coming from Albus, but not entirely - or at all - an unpleasant one. "Yes," he said. "Elsewhere, and everywhere. Does that bother you?"

He'd asked the damned question but it still threw him completely off and he stared for a moment in shock, the silence filled between them then Albus coughed and cleared his throat, "Wh-" he began and coughed again, "what?" he repeated, reaching up to brush back his own ridiculously long hair to keep it out of his face.

"What did you say?" he knew damned well what Gellert had said, but part of his brain was still... confused. He looked away from Grindelwald and shrugged, "Not expressly, no," he said quietly. Albus reached up once more and hesitated before brushing the backs of his knuckles across the man's cheek. Then in a rare moment of absolute honesty, Albus spoke, "I've never.. done this before," it sounded ridiculous and he felt like he was ten years old again and standing in front of his mother like a chastised child.

It was so.. so uncommon for Albus to doubt himself so much but Gellert did this, decidedly, it his fault.

"You ruin me."

Gellert blinked into that silence, looking up at Albus inquisitively and not trying to say anything, to pressure him. He was pretty damn sure that Albus wanted this nearly as badly as he did, but the last thing he wanted was to scare him off, or worse, ruin their friendship.

"You heard what I said," he answered calmly, and "I have" because there was no point hiding it; he didn't plan to share the specifics of his experience, it was all the silly experiments of a schoolboy full of lust, but he could hardly pretend chastity to Albus, who knew everything.

At Albus's last words, Gellert stopped playing with his hair and reached to cup his cheek, thumb brushing against his nervous, pretty mouth. "I'd like to think I make you better," he said quietly. "Like you make me better."

Oh, cheap. Cheap, but true.
