Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Gellert and Albus
WHEN: Now
WHERE: Wherever the wind takes us!
WHAT: Clearly I did not think this through.

Gellert was frustrated beyond all reason. The search for the Hallows had stalled, thanks to being catapulted into the future. All the trails had gone cold, he didn't even know where to begin to look for new information, and he was beginning to fear that it might be hopeless.

Obviously, it was vital that they return to their own time.

"Obviously," he said, pacing on the sidewalk in Hogsmeade, where they had come to enjoy the quaint village atmosphere because it was so crowded in the Ministry housing, "it is vital that we return to our own time."

Gellert paused and tapped a finger against his lips. He was wearing his jeans again, mostly because he could, and a rather fuzzy sweater that he feared made him look silly but which was quite warm. "But," he mused. "How to manage this. Perhaps! You should get a job in the Department of Mysteries."

If taking care of it constituted letting it fall to the ground without so much as a blink, then sure. Albus couldn't be bothered to fold it nicely and somewhere in the back of his mind he registered that it would amuse him terribly to watch Gellert whine about it. But for now he was entertained with watching his greatest friend scramble like a monkey in the limbs of the simple apple tree without the use of his awesome and terrible power at hand. "Ah, congratulations," he mused, "you made it to the first branch," he observed then grinned and turned away from Gellert.

Albus settled himself down on his cloak-blanket and promptly opened the book he'd been coveting for the last half-hour. He poured over it for a second while he had the chance before the blond would attempt to steal it away again, but his gaze was inextricably drawn back to Grindelwald. "If you slip I'm afraid I can't catch you, so mind your steps." And clearly, there was a solution to the hindersome sweater.

He could take it off.

If Albus thought that Gellert was going to take off his sweater for anything less than complete physical gratification, he was sorely mistaken. Among the many things that Gellert hated, being cold was one of the worst.

Then again, scampering about in apple trees was hot work.

He glanced down sullenly at Albus's voice, and the sight of his cloak all crumpled up and that damnable book made him feel wicked. His leap to the next branch was wild and careless, and catching himself actually took some effort.

"That's a shame," he drawled back. "I'll probably break my neck, all for you."
