Who: Jules and Jasper
When: Early evening, Wednesday, September 13
Where: Joyland Coffee
Warning: turns nsfw
Since school began, Jules's social calendar had become much more difficult to navigate. She had cheerleading practice nearly every day after school until five o'clock, which wouldn't be so bad if people didn't expect her to come hang out when she finished. Most nights Jules was eager to drive to a friend's house and do whatever, but occasionally the responsible voice nagging in the back of her head reminded her that if she wanted to get out of Point Pleasant, she needed to actually graduate. And to graduate, she needed to do stuff, like her homework. So after practice, Jules showered and changed into a pair of black yoga pants and a red t-shirt and tossed her things into her car to head out. It was getting cooler at night, but she was stubbornly going without a jacket. She wanted to try and cling to summer for as long as she could before the chill grew to be too unbearable. Winter in Point Pleasant sucked, and pale was not a good color on her.
So yes, she was cold by the time she pulled her Prius into Joyland's tiny parking lot and she wasted no time grabbing her bag and heading inside and getting into the short line, definitely intent on buying a hot drink before she sat down. Preferably something with a lot of caramel and sugar. She could go home and do her homework there, but her creeper stepdad might be there, and Jules did not feel like having to lock herself away in her bedroom to deter Edward from playing daddy when Jules's mother wasn't around. Not to mention Jason was probably home too, and Jules saw enough of her pretentious stepbrother at school when she couldn't quite navigate the halls to avoid him. Plus, if she hung out there, she might see someone she knew and it would be easier to blow off her actual homework. Or she could just people watch, which was just as fun. The shit people did when they didn't think anyone was really paying attention. But Jules was always paying attention. She liked to know things. Everything, really.
