Summary: Harry, Severus and their friends must complete their mission and escape, but can they?
A/N: Written based on an email conversation earlier this week. This didn't go where I expected it to go. My stories never do...sigh. I couldn't shut up either and I'm too tired to go back and make it smaller... so here it is... : ) Hope you like it. I got challenged earlier to write this so here it is.
Harry carefully manoeuvred his body so the wand fell into his hand, then used Sectum Sempra to cut the bands the Muggles had used to secure him before placing him into the box. Another Sectum Sempra and he had escaped the box. Freedom! Now...where were they? They had all been together...his only hope was that they were still together. For a moment, fear paralysed him.
Then suddenly, he spotted the boxes they had been immobilized in and it was a matter of only a few spells and Ron, Hermione, Severus, Dumbledore and Draco were free. Now they just had to complete their mission and escape.
Dumbledore quickly called the small group together and reminded them of the mission that they had agreed upon at the house. If they were going to get sent to the warehouse again, they might as well find Slytherin's locket and destroy it and also attempt to locate and destroy Voldemort as well while they were at it. If they were successful, they could then attempt to escape the warehouse and find some sort of life for themselves.
They immediately set out to find the locket in the warehouse. It had been Ron who had seen the locket and he led the little parade. They quickly located the area as it was well marked, cut open a large crate that stated it contained the locket (Hermione stated it was impossible as it was far too large) and were shocked to find thousands of lockets inside. They all had to have a bit of a think after that.
It was Severus who suggested they continue to explore the warehouse to see what other oddities they may encounter.
Ron argued vigorously against it, being much more for destroying all of the lockets and then just escaping immediately thereafter. However, Severus argued, and Harry agreed to Ron's dismay, that if they didn't explore and find out the truth of what was going on they would most likely regret it forever. It wasn't something you could just work around, after all.
So, they began their exploration. Rounding a corner Ron happened upon an enormous likeness of Snape which caused him to shout out in terror.
After calming him down and puzzling over the enormous Snape, they continued looking. They began to open boxes and investigate.
When they found the boxes that contained hundreds of Hermiones, Harrys, Severus, Dracos,--it was extremely unsettling and they began to understand where they were and who and what they were...when they opened the box of Voldemorts, well they shut it really quickly.
Boxes of them? That was unsettling... Voldemort? That was another thing entirely. There was just something chillingly frightening about having an entire box of Voldmorts. One was quite enough, thank you very much.
As a group they decided they would rest for a bit and then search for a way out of the warehouse, then perhaps attempt to find some way to live. How they would do that...none of them knew.
Severus found Harry sitting on the edge of an unopened box of a Harry Potter doll that had fallen over. He was sitting and hitting his feet on the edge, obviously thinking hard and had not heard him approach. He sat next to him and took his hand.
“We will all get through this you know,” he looked over at the young man in what he hoped was a reassuring way.
“Oh really? We're bloody dolls Severus... Dolls!” Harry resumed kicking his feet.
“Ah, but we've got an advantage. We've been out...seen the world. We know our story, know what is possible and that we have choices. If not you'd still be with that red haired bint.” Severus pointed out arching a brow.
“That bit is true, although we still have nowhere to go.” Harry pointed out pessimistically.
Becoming annoyed with the spoilt child routine, Severus grabbed Harry's shoulders and turned him towards him.
His eyes opened wide in surprise and he stopped his kicking of the box. "Whether we are dolls or Veela Harry, we are magical beings. We can manipulate our environment. We still have Dumbledore and you have your friends. We have each other. You will stop behaving like a two year old as I have no interest in spoilt children..." Harry's eyes dilated as Severus' hand came up to cup his jaw, his thumb running over his lower lip. “Now, on the other hand...the stoic heroic type as you usually behave, that is rather more interesting.”
Harry's tongue darted out to caress Severus' thumb, and retreated. “ I'll attempt to remember that. It seems to be the role you favour. In fact...I believe you've reminded me of some things that are all that matter...” he turned a bit more and raised his hand to the back of Severus' neck pulling his head down so he could properly snog him. Severus complied by turning his head to the side and fitting their mouths and bodies together tightly. Harry explored Severus' mouth carefully, intricately. He was delicious.
He was also right. It didn't matter what the hell they were...they needed to escape and find somewhere to live so they could keep doing this and well, the more advanced bits as well...
He stroked the side of Severus' face. “Fine, let's go. But you need to talk to Ron and Draco...they need to stop arguing over Hermione all the time. It's all your fault for showing them those fanfics...” Severus laughed and took Harry's hand as they walked together to join their friends to search for the exit from the Warner Brothers warehouse.
