House Affiliation
For those members who wish to earn points for their house and have a chance at winning the House Cup or the Individual Most Points Earned certificate, see under the cut for details.

This will show you how to discover your inner Hogwarts House and how to get your name added to the master list. Hereafter, whenever you earn points – or lose them – you do so for your house.

Go to the Hogwarts Sorting Hat and answer the questions in order to find your house (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin).

The quiz will give you a percentage score for each house, but it is the one with the highest score, or the one they decide you fit into that is the one you belong to here. That means that even though you always thought yourself as brave and derring-do, but you turn out to be a quiet mouse of a Hufflepuff, you need to ditch the red and gold for yellow and brass.

Once you have found your house, let us know in a comment, along with your user name, and we will add you to the table.

Funny,

I was thinking that too! It's strange that Gryffindor is the smallest house, we must just be a very talented and/or prolific bunch. I took the quiz again last night, in case I'd become...er...less Gryffindor. Nope, still there, 82%, couldn't get the icon thingy to post in my lj though!

So when's the party?

*hugs*

Lucie,

Less than twenty-four hours for you! Get the drinks handy and keep them there.

I was 98% Gryffindor, which is insane. No one should be that stupid.

Wow, that is insane. I thought my 86% was bad.

Ah,

But you see, I have this theory that this particular test is based on the Myers-Briggs Extroversion/Introversion test. Gryffs are the extroverts, Slyths are the introverts. Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs equate to the Thinking/Feeling parts on the test. In my test I was mostly Gryff (82%) followed by Hufflepuff, then very closely by Ravenclaw and finally by Slytherin. Which means that I am more extrovert than introvert, more feeling than thinking.

Your score just means you are an extrovert!

So is it you organising the party then?

Hmmm... interesting.

I retook the test last night just because I wanted to see if there was a difference too. The order was the same(gryff, raven, puff, slyth) but the scores for each were pretty far apart, whereas last time all four were clumped together. Well, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were still almost tied for second. But Gryff was way ahead and Slyth was way below. *shrug*

So, a thinking extrovert I may be, but I'm not a an organized person in the least. It'd be chaos if I were in charge. XD

ps: you know, if that's the way it is, with Gryff = extrovert, then it makes sense that we'd win the cup even though we have the fewest people. Interesting. :)

The thinking part of the Myers-Briggs doesn't necessarily mean that you would be organised, it just means that you like to think things through before you make a decision. Here's a link that explains it a bit better than I can, http://www.teamtechnology.co.uk/tt/t-articl/mb-simpl.htm

But the Myers-Briggs is used widely by employers etc to indicate preferences. It CAN change with age or how you are feeling on any particular day but the basic categories should stay the same.

I don't think that Rowling used the Myers-Briggs, at least not consciously, because she always said that Gryffindor was the house of the brave and that's where she would like to be. But from the way she hates being in public she is more likely an introvert, which means she'd likely be in Slytherin if she took the test. I don't think that extraverts are braver than introverts or other types, but they might be more likely to be bold and try new things more readily.

I think I took that test a long time ago. It looks familiar. And yes, my results were basically the same: definite extrovert, but only slightly more thinking than feeling.

I agree with you that extroverts are not necessarily brave; there are different types of bravery, they do not all include being bold or outspoken. It's just the bold and outspoken generally get more attention and recognition. Because we don't mind putting ourselves out there. XD
