The scythe and eye in the montage in the first scan would've been nice foreshadowing of Nekron if the cat hadn't already been let out of the bag.

Has it? It's only fan speculation at the moment surely.

Oh yeah, I put up the preview myself on this board over 3 weeks ago.

It's up on DC's site, even.

"Who controls death in the DC Universe? NEKRON - Lord of the Undead!"

Um, no? I do hope the climax to this is a cute goth girl showing up, saying "lol, no" and undoing everything.

That's the separation of Vertigo and DC, dear.

A separation which is nonsensical with JSA having Daniel!Dream in it multiple times.

But really, having different personifications of death wasn't new when The Sandman was published. (Nekron was created before Death, after all.)

She's Death As Compassion. This wouldn't be her thing.

What's going on here, actually, isn't too different from the original cosmology of Light & Void in CEREBUS. Not the later one, but the one originally delivered by the Judge on the Moon, that was much more interesting.

Don't tell that to Gaiman!

Why can't he be some lesser cosmic figure with big talk? It's not like Dream does anything to stop Dr. Destiny now that he doesn't have the ruby anymore.

I stand (well, sit) corrected.
