Thing is that Johns recently, explicitly, had Hal reminiscing about how, despite their conflicts, he and Bruce WERE friends.
As for CRY FOR JUSTICE, it sucks anyway. It's SO arch and SO serious and SO grimdark it actually makes me laugh out loud. But then, apart from STARMAN, to me James Robinson always represented the point in the "dark age" where it becomes self-parody. Not just with superheroes; WITCHCRAFT, despite its excellent artists, reads like someone trying to parody Neil Gaiman.(and the second one is just unreadable crap) Remember, this is the man who took the money to ruin LOEG. Someone British, in comics, not some Hollywood hack but someone who should know better. Sorry, no mercy. Robinson sucks.
