Re: Official Warning
Please reread Angelophile's comment:
The reason you're being given this warning is because of the fact that this comic is a very thinly veiled attack post against members of the community with legitimate concerns with no apparent interest in fair discussion. You'd earn a warning for typing this and putting it in comic form doesn't negate the impact.
And from the ethos:
Scans Daily was founded by girl geeks, and members of slash fandom but now strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBT-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harrassment free. The moderation team is always striving to make it a safer space for all fans, but this is not a safe space. Members come from all walks of life to talk about and share extracts from comics, and not all of them are on the same page regarding anti-oppression theory. Calling out other members or creators for discriminatory or oppressive behavior is encouraged for the good of the community.
The warning was not issued for making fun of the membership. It was issued because it makes light of the legitimate and encouraged practice of calling our discriminatory and oppressive behaviour on comm, and in comics. Additionally, the strip contains a veiled attack on a particular group of our members, engaged in calling out. Also against the rules. That the punchline of the strip pokes fun at members who believe that they've forced Marvel's hand, doesn't really change the meaning of the preceding panels. There's no reveal that somehow makes "RAPE RAPE!" not diminishing.
