A comic to lift your spirits

The guy shown here is not supposed to be representative of scans daily posters as a whole who I know to contain a number of real actual women and also furries.

	I believe part of the reason this became a kerfluffle is that the events were only ambiguous in their degree; the situation was either highly troubling or very troubling, but was never going to be not troubling. This strip could apply to some discussions, both here and elsewhere, but I don't think it's an accurate enough description to serve as a parody. (Reply to this)

But the comic doesn't portray an "ambiguous series of events that could be potentially offensive". It portrays a series of events that IS offensive. Playing rape as comedy in a mainstream comic is never cool, even if the rape itself didn't take place, the readers were meant to think it did, therefore it's still playing rape for laughs.

And people getting angry about it? Good. I'm glad. people SHOULD be angry about it and calling out Marvel on the bullshit because that's part of what our ethos is all about.

This cartoon both really misses the mark and also the multiple reasons why people are upset and angry about the sequence and belittles legitimate complaints.

	well, this did make me giggle I think the dislike of the rape issue in Spiderman is justified, and this IS kinda making fun of us, but those last two panels on this are pretty good, especially facial expression-wise I suppose this should be taken with a grain of salt who did this comic by the way? 	I really don't see how the events from the next issue should alter my distaste of the storyline, since it's based on the manner and tone in which an apparent sequence of events was treated. The fact that this apparent sequence of event contained a bit of misdirection isn't really relevant to that. (Reply to this)

The reason you're being given this warning is because of the fact that this comic is a very thinly veiled attack post against members of the community with legitimate concerns with no apparent interest in fair discussion. You'd earn a warning for typing this and putting it in comic form doesn't negate the impact.
