I actually like the above story much more than the usual Loeb, but I must take exception: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, DARK VICTORY, and CATWOMAN: WHEN IN ROME are all littered with varying degrees of Loeb's trademark suck. It's more subtly done than wholescale slaughter of characters, but flat, one-note characterizations, plot holes, worn-out tropes, and lame Hollywood cliche dialogue abound.
But he gets away with it because he knows how to utilize Sale's wonderful artwork beautifully.
