Mad gun-fu is a martial art, right?
One of the fun things about Gunsmith Cats was that it was an incredibly geeky series. Many of the plot points were designed specifically to allow Kenichi Sonoda to nerd out about things he liked, such as muscle cars, spy gadgets, and guns he is not allowed to own because of Japan's incredibly strict guns laws. Not only that, but occasionally, in the gaps between plot arcs, the action would break so that Rally could spend pages on end talking to the audience other characters about the tricks of her trade.

One such scene can be found beneath the cut.

Not my scans.

There's one reason to wield two semi-auto handguns: suppression fire. But, if you're in a situation where you need suppression fire . . . it would be better to have a machine gun or sub machine gun in such cases. Handguns are for dropping foes, not making them hide.

Just one handgun works fine for suppression fire, since you have a free hand to put in a new clip more rapidly, and thus keep firing longer.

I had the impression that shooting with the gun held sideways was useless unless you were sweeping the room with an automatic pistol, and letting the kickback of the slide drive your arc. Kinda cool to see there -is- another use for it.

letting the kickback of the slide drive your arc.

Depends on the gun. More likely to work better with shoddier guns.

A pistol is to be used to get a shotgun. A shotgun is to be used to get a long gun. A long gun is to be used to get an automatic weapon.

... by preference, run away instead always.

But damn, I love the cars.

Reminds me of a Punisher story from a few years back- the one where Frank is cornered by criminals and they all fire their pistols gangsta-style and never hit him once. Once they're all out of ammo, he calmly picks them off one by one, leaving them this final bit of advice:

"There's a reason the sights are on top of the gun."

I would buy every issue twice if Garth Ennis was back on that title...

I feel ya, but honestly the current rotating creative teams on Punisher Max aren't doing a bad job. The first two non-Ennis trades are out so if you're interested you can pick them up. Or you can wait till the always awesome Jason Aaron gets on the title in November but Steve Dillon is the artist so if you don't like him, well, err, I guess you're stuck.

I think the Japanese government regulates a certain quota of ridiculous hair in manga and anime.
