Wanna see Harley turn the tables on Mr. J?
In the Batman Adventures: My Boyfriend's back, the Joker's been subjected to all kinds of "therapy" at good ol' Arkham and it's pretty much eviscerated him from his naturally homicidal tendencies.
So he's super lovey-dovey to Harley -- and guess what? She HATES it.
(Still noob-ish on the tags issue ...sorry 'bout that and hoping the cut works....)

And so she figures trying to kill him will bring him back to his ol' ways...

D'awww...crazy homicidal psychopathic clowns!

Great issue that!

Oh, and your cut worked fine, I've added a couple of tags, but your preview image is too large as you're only allowed one image of no more than 400x300 above the cut.

(Cut worked fine... except for through the feed! Do we have ANY idea what the problem with that is yet?)

From what I understand from others cuts don't work in feeds.

I believe they work when you use the irritating livetext insanejournal cut. Rather find out the html for that tho. :/

Oooohhh... how do I decrease the size for the preview image?

You could resize it, cut out one panel to use as a preview, or just don't use a preview.

Thanks for adding the tags, btw. I still can't figure out the IJ tagging system. How did you do it so I know for the future?

Two ways.

If you are confident about the tags you need you can manually type them into the "Tags" field at the bottom, being sure to seaprate each tag with a comman.

Alternatively, you can save the document without tags, then select the [TAG} button at the top of the screen, and then add them in by picking from the established list at the foot of the document, holding down the CTRL key to select more than one.

That was awesome. Harley comes off like a ditz but she can be damn clever when she really needs to.

I gotta wonder, though: what kind of therapy could possibly work on the Joker, given that they've presumably tried everything? (Short of a lobotomy, which I assume isn't legal in the DCU/DCAU or they would've done it by now.) Then again, the Joker seems to escape Arkham at will, so he probably doesn't stick around there nearly long enough for any meds, psychotherapy or ECT to take effect.

It likley helps that few are willing to spend any time with him or get close enough to touch him for fear of death or maiming.

You know, it would have been funny to see the Arkham doctors reactions to sane Joker and then back to insane Joker.
Only coz they probably spent so much time on this (probably some losing their lives or getting maimed while doing so) and Harley goes and undoes everything.

Another funny thing to ponder is, given the notorious manipulator Joker is, how the doctors would've known he was really cured and safe to discharge.

Why is the BatFamily so awesome? Specifically in this case, I'm referring to the end scene with the Commish.

I know! I don't think Harley's sane here -- still insane, but I guess now it's more like they've "switched roles." Heh.

I've read this before, and while, yes, it is very sweet and everything, there is something deeply sad about the fact that Harley can ONLY love the Joker when he's - in his own words - 'a homicidal lunatic'. I mean, how many times has Harley strove to win Mistah J's love and affection? How many times has she thrown her own sanity back in the toilet simply because she thinks it'll make him happy? And now that she finally HAS his love and affection, she isn't interested in him - she only wants the old Joker, the one who ignored, used, and frequently threatened/tried to kill her. That is what I call a deeply dysfunctional relationship.

It IS deeply dysfunctional and yet, to many, that's what makes it so fascinating (or ridiculous) to watch. She not only wants him back but is willing to kill him to get him back. And he finds the violence "romantic." It's almost... functionally dysfunctional.

But being clowns I think they parody (normal or otherwise) relationships as well.

I don't think he finds violence 'romantic', it's just his way of communicating with EVERYBODY. Romance to him is giving a woman flowers laced with poison.

This comic read like great crack!fic to me and I can enjoy it for what it was.

Let's face it, the only person Joker shows even a little affection to is Batman. There are lots of times he is very tender towards the Bat and to Harley he is only ever eithermanipulating her or hurgting her. This comic reads to me like nthing more than fan service.

What is that even supposed to mean?

Look, at the end of the day, the above poster has every right to say what she has. She is in disagreeement with a certain pairing or what have you. And that's fine, it shows that people have different opinions and can debate them or agree to disagree, etc. In fact, I appreciate it. If everyone agreed with me, this world would be a very boring place, indeed.
A close friend of mine loves Frank Miller. I am not a *huge* fan. However, I respect that he has an opinion about it and respect it enough to read all of the Frank Miller books he is sending me with an open mind.

But honestly, I don't appreciate insinuating or instigatory behaviour. And hey, you know, I could be wrong, but the suggestion behind your words is that the above poster has said something that is going to cause someone to fly off the handle.
We as humans are never going to agree on everything. And fandom can be a very passionate place -- believe me, I've had to cover the games and you've never seen passion until you've seen a Canadian hockey fan during playoffs.

But if you want to debate, then debate! And this is a shared space. People are going to like things you don't; they're going to like things I don't. And that's also the beauty of this space -- if you don't like something, you don't have to click on it or go to it. So let's be civil and respectful.
Thanks.

I think you missed the point when I made the :p sign.

Please don't lecture me. It's taxing on my time and maybe you should take your own advice because I did not in anyway in shape or form make an attempt to be snarky. YOU took it that way as demonstrated at the beginning when you said 'what does that mean?' and got all these strange ideas.

Uh... I have no opinion on 'Gotham City Sirens'; I'm not even sure what it is. I'm presuming a mini-series about the female villains of Gotham, yes?

For some reason, the way he looks in the second-to-last panel makes me go all gooey with squee. I can imagine a Queen Voice turning on for that panel... XD Win.
