Is Phyla supposed to be a massive idiot?

The issue ends with Quasar turning into the Magus and snapping Gamora's neck, so I have a feeling everything will get reversed.

Oops. :o

No, I meant Warlock turns into Magus.

Oh, good fucking going then. The Magus was just what we needed.

It's not clear how much that's Oblivion/Phyla's doing and how much it's Adam's. In order to save the universe, he picked an "unused future" that didn't involve everything being obliterated by the expanding Rift and anchored it to the present. Gamora surmises that the "unused future" he picked is one where he goes all Magus.

No, she's just demonstrating that love makes homosexuals just as batshit insane as heterosexuals.

Nice artwork, but it shows my main complaint with this series. The characters in function, and sometimes personality, are too damn alike.

Captain Marvel's kids didn't turn out to be too stable.

*Sigh*

Well, the wearing black, calling herself Martyr, and kidnapping Attilan royalty at swordpoint didn't start until after the run-in with Oblivion. Hard to fault anyone a little insanity when they've got the near-omnipotent embodiment of nonexistence chomping on their brain. Honestly, the only thing about her behavior here that seems weird is that she bothers to apologize.

(I do kind of wonder why the Guardians just sort of ignored the six million neon warning signs that led up to this, but I suppose they *have* been extremely busy.)

If Bobby "Iceman" Drake was able to resist Oblivion in his debut story, I have little patience for Phylla not managing it.

But Phyla made a deal with Oblivion to save Moondragon. Did Iceman make any deals like that with Oblivion?

Was Bobby made into Oblivion's avatar? Because there's a rather significant difference between resisting the influence of somebody who's been fucking with you from the start and to whom you owe nothing and resisting the influence of somebody who's the very source of your power.

True, a different scenario, but it was her decision to make a deal with on of the BAD two of the big Four, Oblivion, the antithesis of Infinity, in the first place which I still feel was the ridiculous part.

I get it, people in love make dumb choices, I know that, I understand that, but there's dumb, and there's freaking cosmic levels of stupidity which would, if left unchecked, endumben stellar empires. Making a deal with OBLIVION? That'd be like Spider-Man making a deal with... well, you get where that sentence was going.

This is the part where the writers pretty much threw up their hands and said "I just don't know."

I swear, I followed Phyla's journey through Quasar, Annihilation, lots of issues of GotG, and after being swallowed by a dragon, she swaps like this? Girl's the Anakin of her universe.

I noticed. I just don't see how she could do a complete 180ยบ after everything she's been through this easily and willingly. Sure, it's nice to have Moondragon back, but I would have at least expected her to come up with some sort of plan to avoid this kind of thing from happening.

Given Adam Warlocks frequent habit of creating a regenerative cocoon, wouldn't beheading him be a better move that stabbing through the heart but leaving him in one piece?

Killing Warlock doesn't normally turn him into Magus, it turns him into Cocoon Kid.
